Far-End Alarms
Table 8-8 provides information for far-end alarms.

Far-End Alarm Description Severity Level
FE LOS This alarm indicates the far-end unit has lost the RX
signal.
Minor
FE AIS This alarm indicates the far-end unit is receiving an AIS
(blue) alarm condition from the network. AIS alarms
occur when consecutive 1010s are received in the
information bits. This indicates there is a transmission
fault located either at the transmitting terminal or
upstream from the transmitting terminal.
Alert
FE OOF This alarm indicates that the far-end unit has lost
framing on the DS3.
Minor
FE IDLE This alarm indicates the far-end unit is receiving an idle
indication on the DS3.

FE DS3 FAIL SA This alarm indicates the far-end unit or network is
reporting a service affecting (SA) DS3 equipment failure.

This alarm indicates the far-end unit or network is
reporting a non-service affecting (NSA) common
equipment failure.

This alarm indicates the far-end unit is experiencing a
Loss-of-Signal (LOS) on multiple DS1s.

This alarm indicates the far-end unit is experiencing an
LOS on a single DS1.

SA DS1 equipment failure.
