2.11 COM port connector (CN2,CN11,CN25)
The AIMB-641 provides six serial ports, COM1 in one a DB-9 connector
and COM2 in a 14-pin dual-inline connector, and COM3~6 in 40-pin
dual-inline male header connectors. They provide connections for serial
devices (a mouse, etc.) or a communication network. You can find the pin
assignments for the COM port connector in Appendix B.
2.11.1 COM2 (RS-232/422/485) setting (JP5)
COM2 can be configured to operate in RS-232, RS-422, or RS-485 mode.
This is done via JP5
2.12 LVDS connections (JP4)
The board supports 2 channel 36-bit (48-bit optional) LVDS LCD panel
displays. Users can connect to either an 36-bit or 48-bit LVDS LCD.
2.13 USB and LAN ports
The board provides up to six USB (Universal Serial Bus) ports, which
gives complete Plug & Play and hot swapping for up to 127 external
devices.The USB interface complies with USB Specification Rev. 2.0
supporting transmission rates up to 480 Mbps. The USB interface can be
disabled in the system BIOS setup.The AIMB-641 is equipped with one
or two high-performance Ethernet interfaces, which are fully compliant
with IEEE 802.3/u 10/100 Mbps CSMA/CD standards. Also, the board
provides the option of supporting single or dual 10/10/1000 Mbps Ether-
net LANs. They are supported by all major network operating systems.
The RJ-45 jacks on the rear plate provide convenient 10/100 Base-T or
10/100/1000 Base-T RJ45 operation which is equipped with a high per-
formance 32-bit PCI-bus Ethernet interface which is fully compliant with
IEEE 802.3U 10/100Mbps and IEEE 802.3 z/ab 1000BASE-T standards.
It is supported by all major network operating systems.
