2.12 Serial ports (CN13, CN9)
The PCM-4825/4825L offers two serial ports: one RS-232 and one
RS-232/422/485. These ports let you connect to serial devices (a
mouse, printers, etc.) or a communication network.
2.12.1 COM1 RS-232 port (CN13)
The serial port connectors are mounted on the bottom edge of the
card. The 9-pin, D-SUB connector to the left of the card is the RS-
232 port.
2.12.2 COM2 RS-232/422/485 selection (CN9)
The secondary port located above COM1, consists of a 14-pin,
dual-in-line, male header and can be configured to operate in RS-
232, RS-422, or RS-485 mode. This is done via J7.

The IRQ and address range for both ports are fixed. However if
you wish to disable the port or change these parameters later, you
can do this in the system BIOS setup. The table below shows the
settings for the PCM-4825/4825L board's ports.
