9.1 Introduction
9.1.1 General Information
The touchscreen for the TREK-743 series is a resistive touchscreen.
The resistive touchscreen incorporates advanced second-generation resistive,
impact-resistant technology, which allows 80% light transmission. There is also an
antiglare surface for greatly enhanced visual resolution. It also has new and
improved scratch-resistant features. For more detailed information, please visit the

9.1.2 General Specifications
Please refer to Chapter 1, Section 1.2 of this manual.
9.2 Installation of Touchscreen Driver
The touchscreen driver for Windows contains a native, 32-bit driver and a 32-bit con-
trol panel program for the TREK-743 system.
Instructions for installing touchscreen drivers for Windows XP / XP Embedded:
To install the driver software, the TREK-743 must have a Windows XP system run-
ning and PenMount control board already installed. If an older version of the Pen-
Mount Windows XP driver is installed on the TREK-743, please remove it.
Follow the steps below to install the PenMount Windows XP driver:
1. Execute: D:\TREK-743 Driver and Utilities\DMC6000\Driver\PenMount Win-
dows Universal Driver V1.0.1020_AP V1.0.0.8\setup.exe to install the Pen-
Mount Windows XP driver and press “Next” to proceed.
2. Press “Next” and follow the on-screen instructions; and press “install” to start.
3. The “Restarting Windows” dialog box appears. Click “Yes I want to restart my
computer now,” then click “OK” to restart the computer.
