Microwaves are produced by a magnetron inside the microwave oven, and these vibrate the molecules of water present in the food. The friction this causes produces heat, which ensures that the food is defrosted, heated or cooked through.

Please follow the manufacturer's recommendations. Generally speaking, metal should not be used, since microwaves do not pass through metal and therefore cannot reach the food.

Use a lid, microwave cling film or a cover. Foods which are to be crispy, e.g. roasts or chickens, should not be covered. As a general rule, whatever would be covered in a conventional oven should also be covered in a microwave oven. Whatever would be uncovered in a conventional oven can also be left uncovered in a microwave oven.

AG-71+72D-EU English 17/11/2005 13:10 Page 13 UK Heating • Ready-prepared meals in aluminium containers should be removed from the aluminium container and heated on a plate or in a dish. • Food should be covered with microwave cling film, a plate or cover (obtainable from stores), so that the surface does not dry out. Drinks need not be covered. • Remove the lids from firmly closed containers. • When boiling liquids such as water, coffee, tea or milk, place a glass stirrer in the container.

This is particularly important when you want to cook the vegetables whole (e.g. boiled potatoes). • Wash the vegetables before preparing them, clean them and only then weigh the required quantity for the recipe and chop them up. • Season them as you would normally, but as a rule only add salt after cooking.

Generally the following recommendations apply: 450 W for dense foods which require a long cooking time when cooked conventionally, eg. beef dishes, it is advisable to use this power setting to ensure the meat will be tender. 900 W used for fast cooking or reheating e.g.

Sel, épices et herbes Pour simplifier le plus possible l’utilisation du microondes, nous avons réuni ici les conseils les plus importants : ne faites fonctionner le four que lorsqu’il contient des aliments. Les mets cuits au micro-ondes conservent mieux leur saveur propre qu’avec les méthodes conventionnelles. Salez donc très peu et, en règle générale, seulement après la cuisson.

Une fois cette température atteinte, on peut arrêter la cuisson, on obtiendra un bon résultat. Vous pouvez déterminer la température intérieure à l’aide d’un thermomètre de cuisine.

Ne couvrez pas les mets sur lesquels une croûte doit se former, comme p. ex. les rôtis ou les poulets.

Sørg for, at ovnen står stabilt og ikke sidder skråt. Du skal sikre dig, at der er en åbning på 5 mm mellem 5 mm skabsdøren og toppen af rammen (se diagrammet). 5. Fastgør ovnen med de leverede skruer. Fastgøringspunkterne er placeret i hjørnerne på ovnens over- og underside (se diagrammet, punkt 10 på side 135).
