Roasting
This oven is well insulated. That
means that humidity in the oven will
be relatively high and consequently
no water should be added when
roasting. If you want stock for
making gravy, place the joint in a
suitably sized oven-proof dish and
add max. 5 dl water. No further
water should be added during
cooking.
If you use too much water in the
oven, condensation will form which
may spill out onto the floor. You
will also use excessive energy.
The conventional oven, fan oven,
combination oven and slow-
roasting programme are suitable
for roasting. The combination oven
is particularly suitable for items
which need a crisp skin such as
chicken, roast pork, leg of lamb etc.
However, be aware that when using
the fan oven or combination oven,
the oven will need much more
cleaning, due to the distribution of
fat particles by the circulating air.
If you want to use a roasting
bag, cut off one corner before
placing it in the oven. In this
way you will avoid burning
yourself on hot steam when
you open the bag.
