Important Safety Instructions These warnings are provided in the interests of your safety. Ensure you fully understand them before installing or using the appliance. Your safety is of paramount importance. If you are unsure about the meaning of these warnings contact the Customer Care Department for assistance. Intended use The refrigerator is intended for use in the home. It is suitable for the cooling, freezing and storing of frozen food, as well as for making ice.
Important Safety Instructions Often children cannot recognise the hazards present in household appliances. It is therefore important that you ensure adequate supervision and never let children play with the appliance! Daily Operation Containers with flammable gases or liquids can leak at low temperatures. There is a risk of an explosion! Do not store any containers with flammable materials such as spray cans, fire extinguisher refill cartridges etc in the refrigerator/freezer.
Disposal In the interest of the Environment Materilas marked with the symbol are recyclable. Check with your local Council or Environmental Health Office to see if there are facilities in your area for recycling this appliance. When the appliance is to be scrapped, cut off the power supply cable and make the door lock device unusable to prevent young children from being trapped inside. Help to keep your country tidy- use authorised disposal sites for your old appliance.
Installation Installation Location The appliance should be set up in a well ventilated, dry room. Energy use and efficient performance of the appliance is affected by the ambient temperature. The appliance should therefore - not be exposed to direct sunlight; - not be installed next to radiators, cookers or other sources of heat; - only be installed at a location whose ambient temperature corresponds to the climate classification, for which the appliance is designed.
Installation Levelling The appliance must be level. Level the appliance by adjusting the two adjustable feet (1) at the front of the appliance. If required the washer (2) can be removed. 2 1 Reversing the Door The side at which the door opens can be changed from the right side(as supplied) to the left side, if the installation site requires. Warning! When changing the side at which the door opens, the appliance must not be connected to the mains. Remove plug from the mains beforehand.
Installation To reverse the handle proceed as follows: Remove screw covers (if fitted) and handle retaining screws. Remove blanking plugs on the opposite side using a punch. Relocate the handle to the opposite side and refit retaining screws (covers if fitted), and push the plastic plugs supplied with the instruction book into the holes where the handle was previously fitted.
Installation Electrical Connection Any electrical work required to install this appliance should be carried out by a qualified electrician or competent person. This appliance must be earthed. The manufacturer declines any liability should these safety measures not be observed. Electrical Requirements Before switching on, make sure the electricity supply voltage is the same as that indicated on the appliance rating plate. The appliance is supplied with a 13 amp plug fitted.

Prior to Initial Start–Up Please clean the appliance interior and all accessories prior to initialstart-up (see section: “Cleaning and Care”). Control panel The indicator lights are situated in the control panel. A.) Green Indicator Light When the appliance is switched on at the mains the green indicator light will illuminate and remain lit until the appliance is switched off at the mains. B.
Installation Basket Storage Frozen food should be stored in the two lower baskets and the top compartment used for fast freezing. Freezer Tray The freezer tray is particularly suitable for open freezing, for example strawberries, raspberries etc.
Starting up and temperature regulation To Start the Appliance 1.Allow the appliance to stand for 2 hrs after installation. 2. Plug in the appliance and switch on at the mains supply. 3. Freezing different products should always be done in the freezing compartment after proper preparation. 4. Push the freezer switch (pops up and lights by pressing) 4 hours before freezing food of small quantities and about 24 hours before freezing products of larger quantities.
Switching Off the Appliance When the appliance is not in use for long periods, disconnect from the electricity supply, empty all foods and clean the appliance, leaving the door open to prevent unpleasant smells. Freezing and Storing Frozen Food It is important that fresh food placed in the freezer is frozen quickly and that the food already in the freezer is heated as little as possible. If more than 3-4 kg of food is to be frozen: 1.
Thawing Deep frozen or frozen food, prior to being used, can be thawed in a fridge or at room temperature, depending on the time available. Small food items may even be cooked from frozen, in this case cooking will take longer. Any frozen food which is allowed to thaw accidentally should either be eaten as soon as possible, or thrown away. Alternatively, if the food is uncooked and has not been completely defrosted it can be cooked and then refrozen. Defrosted cooked food must never be refrozen.

This should be removed with the special plastic scraper provided whenever the thickness of frost exceeds 6 mm (1/4“). During this operation it is not necessary to switch off the power supply or to remove the foodstuffs. However, when the ice becomes very thick on the inner liner, complete defrosting should be carried out and it is advisable to peform this operation when the appliance is empty.
Cleaning and Care Before any maintenance or cleaning is carried out you must DISCONNECT the appliance from the electricity supply. Internal Cleaning Clean the inside and accessories with warm water and bicarbonate of soda (5 ml to 0.5 litre of water). Rinse and dry thoroughly. NEVER use detergents, abrasive powders, highly perfumed cleaning products or wax polishes to clean the interior as these will damage the surface and leave a strong odour.
Energy Saving Tips Do not install the appliance near cookers, radiators or other sources of warmth. High ambient temperatures cause longer, more frequent operation of the compressor. Ensure sufficient air circulation and exhaust at the appliance base and at the back wall of the appliance. Never cover air vent openings. Do not place warm foods into the appliance. Allow warm foods to cool first. Only leave door open as long as necessary. Do not set temperature any colder than necessary.
What to do if ... Correcting Malfunctions A malfunction may be caused by only a minor fault that you can rectify yourself using the following instructions. Do not perform any other work on the appliance if the following information does not provide assistance in your specific case. Important! Repairs to refrigerators/freezers may only be performed by competent service engineers. Improper repairs can give rise to significant hazards for the user.
Noises During Operation The following noises are characteristic of refrigeration appliances: Clicks Whenever the compressor switches on or off, a click can be heard. Humming As soon as the compressor is in operation, you can hear it humming. Bubbling/Splashing When refrigerant flows into thin tubes, you can hear bubbling or splashing noises. Even after the compressor has been switched off, this noise can be heard for a short time.
Technical Terminology Refrigerant Liquids that can be used to a generate a cooling effect are known as refrigerants. They have a relatively low boiling-point, indeed so low,that the warmth from the food stored in the fridge or freezer can cause the refrigerant to boil and vaporise. Refrigerant Circuit Closed circulation system that contains the refrigerant. The refrigerant circuit comprises primarily of an evaporator, a compressor, a condenser and pipe work.
