We nevertheless feel that it is important to acquaint you with the following safety guidelines: Use for Intended Purpose « The freezer is intended for household use. It is suitable for freezing and storage of frozen food. The manufacturer assumes no liability for damages occurring through improper operation of use of the appliance for unintended purposes.

You could for example hang the thermometer on the top storage baskets. If the freezer is not completely full, you should place the thermometer directly onto the food stored for a more precise temperature measurement. IF the lid is left open for a longer period, the thermometer display is influenced by the air in the romp.
