Electrical connections Safety warnings for electrician It must be ensured that the voltage and current indicated on the rating plate agree with the voltage of the user to electricity supply. If the appliance has been equipped with a mains lead with a moulded-on type plug, the following regulations must be comply with: The plug moulded on to the lead incorporates a fuse. For replacement, use a 5 amp BS1362 fuse. Only ASTA approved or certified fuses should be used.
Electrical connection for the UK The appliance must be connected to fixed wiring with a double pole switched fused spur outlet with or without pilot lamp. Appliances with 2 wires We strongly recommend the appliance to be connected only by a qualified electrician who is a member of the NICEIC who will comply with the IEE and any local regulations. NOTE: The terminology “DOUBLE POLE” means that both the live and the neutral supplies are switched and disconnected at the same time.
Safety warnings for kitchen unit installer When the unit is used in its extractor version, a sufficiently large ventilation hole must be provided, with dimensions that are approximately the same as the outlet hole. The air outlet must not be connected to chimney flues or combustion gas ducts. The air outlet must under no circumstances be connected to ventilation ducts for rooms in which fuel-burning appliances are installed.
When used as an extractor unit, the hood must be fitted with a 100mm diameter hose. If the fumes must be forced out through the wall, you must obtain a MKZ sizable wall exhaust pipe (with external exhaust and air intake), E-Nr.- 610 899 004 (Ø 120 mm) which is one of our optional parts. When installing the hood, make sure you respect the following minimum distance from the top edge of the cooking hob/ ring surfaces: electric cookers 650 mm gas cookers 700 mm coal and oil cookers 900 mm min.

Fixing the hood After having adjusted the hood for the version required, it may be installed. This appliance is designed for fitting in a cabinet or some other support. The opening to be made on the bottom of the wall-hung cabinet must correspond with the measurements shown in fig. 4 (495 X 260 mm). To fix the hood proceed as follows: a) remove the grid. b) Fit the hood into the opening. c) Secure the unit to the cabinet by screwing up screws through holes C (fig. 4). d) Replace the grid.
The hood is fitted with one variable speed motor. The most effective use of the hood is obtained by switching it on a few minutes before you start cooking and leaving it on a for approximately 5-15 minutes after having finished, thus ensuring that all that cooking odours are eliminated. Safety warnings for user Never leave a cooking hob or ring on without a pot or pan on top of it, to avoid the possibility of excess heat damaging the unit.
Hood Operation Controls The hood is fitted with a variable speed motor. The most effective use of the hood is obtained by switching it on a few minutes before you start cooking and leaving it on a for approximately 15 minutes after you have finished, thus ensuring all cooking odours are eliminated.
Care and Maintenance Before performing any maintenance operation, disconnect the hood from the electricity. Metal grease filter The hood has a metal grease filter. To clean the filter, proceed as follows: Open the grill by turning knob A (fig. 2). A A 2 Pull the two plastic stops B as shown by the arrows (fig. 5) and remove the metal filter. B B 5 You should take out the metal filter every four weeks and wash it either in the dishwashing machine or by hand.
Always turn off the electricity before replacing lamps! Replacing the lamps 1) Remove the grid (Fig. 2) in order to check the lamps and replace them if necessary. A A 2 2) Unscrew the lamps that do not work and replace them with 40W max lamps (E14). If the light does not function, check that the lamps are properly screwed before contacting a customers’ service centre. Warning: always disconnect the hood from the mains power supply before cleaning it.

Check that: The hood is connected to the electricity supply. Check that the fan speed control is set to 1, 2 or 3. The cooker hood is not working effectively.. Chec k that: The fan speed is set high enough for the task.
