We have written this booklet with your safety in mind. Read the bookie thoroughly before you uge the oven. Keep the booklet in a safe place so that anyone who uses the oven can read it. General information To get the best results from your new oven please read these instructions carefully. You should pay particular attention fo cooking times and gas mark settings as these may differ from your previous oven. Oven light Your oven is tilted with one oven light, The oven light will come an when you use the vane, The oven light bulb will usually last for many months. Connecting 1o the electricity supply The plug supplied with the oven can be fitted directly to a suitable thee pin earthed socket.
Lighting the oven and grill Grill To light: 1 Open the grill door. Push in the control knob and tum it to the highest setting. This is shown by & Sarge flame symbol. Oven To light: 1 Open the oven door, 2 Pushkin the control knob and tum it 10 gas mark 9, When the burner has lit there will only be sat flames at first. Oven 3 Now tum the control knob to the gas mark you want. 4 Wait unit the boomer Is showing large flames. 5 Close the oven door.
The grill When you first tum the grill on you will be able to smell residues from the grill surface being burnt off. It may be necessary to open a window for ventilation The smell will disappear after using the grill a few times. Heat control The grill gives variable heat settings. The control knob tums to the left from ‘OFF' to 'HIGH' and then o 'LOW. The high setting should be used for fast cooking such as toast.
Preheating You don't usually need to preheat the grill. You may wish to preheat it for a couple of minutes when you are caking steal or browning food Putting food on the grid Place food such as toast, tea-cakes and muffins towards the center of the grid. if you put food outside this area it may require rotating during cooking. Place fond which needs a more gentle heat, such as tomatoes or mushrooms towards the edge of the grid.
The grill pan and handle The grill pan has a removable handle. This should be removed during grilling. To attach the handle, press the button on the handier with your thumb. Lift the handle upwards slightly and put it into the widest part of the gl pan bracket. Move the handle to the left and lower into position. You can now release the button. Make sure the handle is firmly located.
The oven Before you use the vane you should wipe it out with a damp cloth to remove Rotten any dust. it o S When you first turn the oven an you will be able to smell residues from the GAS MARK oven surfaces being burnt off. It may be necessary to open a window for TEMPERATURE ventilator. The smell will disappear after using the oven a few times. Heat zones There are zones of heat within the oven.

Oven temperature chart “The chart below is intended to help you use your oven. i you are using a gas oven for the first ime orig a recipe says 'cook at 350°F or ‘use a moderately hot oven' you can use the chart to find out what gas mark 10 use. The temperatures are only a guide they are not actual temperatures in the oven. This chart cannot be used 1o check actual oven temperatures.
3 Oven cooking chart Thea instructions are for cooking in the oven after it has been per-heated for 20 minutes. ‘When you are using both shelves, use the sheet with the metal piste in the higher position 1 you are cooking more than one tray of similar items, for example cakes or biscuits, swap the trays around during cooking or you can fake the top tray out of the vane when the food is cooked and move the lower tray to the higher sheaf to finish cooking.
Slow cooking The slow cook setting gives a very low heat in the oven. It Is particularly useful when you are cooking soups, stews and casseroles because te long slow cooking will mask cheaper, tougher cuts of meat more tender. Oven Some foods such as pastry and biscuits are not suitable for slow cooking because the temperature is too iow. Cover all fang during cooking fo prevent it from drying out.
General points tor slow cooking Frozen foods Thaw thoroughly before cooking. Thickening Toss meat in flout for casseroles. Alternatively blend cornflour with water and add it at the end of cooking. Flavoring Flavors are held in the fad because there is little evaporation. Adjust flavoring at the end of the cooking time. Liquid Use sightly less liquid as there is tittle evaporation during cooking Milk and milk products, for example cream Add these towards the end of cooking 1o prevent them from curdling.

Set The Time Of Day When the electricity supply is first switched ON, the display will flash both 0.00 and AUTO as Fig. 1.
Release the minute minder button and the display will rectum to the time of day after 5 seconds. During the operation of the minute minder, the remaining time period can be shown in the display by pressing the minute minder button ({1 } as Fig. 5. The minute minder will sound intermittently for up to 2 minutes at the end of the timed period. The sound can be stopped by pressing any of the 4 left hand side buttons. 3.

5. To Cancel An Automatic Programmer A programmer may be canceled by resuming the cooling hours 1o zero. Press the cooking hours button {1 ) then press bunion until 0.00 is displayed as Fig. 14. The AUTO display wilt now flash and acts as a reminder to reset the cooker o manual. 6. Follow these simple rules to maintain the appearance of the special finish. 2 Do nat overfill dishes or they will boil over. 2 Do not use dishes too high In the oven. If you 6o they may stick ta the oven roof. Cover your roasting tin with foil. This will e prevent fat splashing. Use a roasting tin which Js just large enough for the meat and potatoes. This wil hep to reduce fat splashing. 5 Mesa Dry any vegetables that you are going to roast. )t they are wet thees will be more fat splashing.
Cleaning between the outer and inner door glass You can remove the glass from the oven and grill doors if you need to. The grit door is filed with & trim. You must note the correct position of the trim when you remove the grill door glass. To remove the outer glass Open the door so you can get at the two cross head screws on the fop of the door, Loosen these two screws using a overdrive screwdriver.
What is wrong and why? We strongly recommend that you carry out the following checks on your oven before calling a Service Engineer. Problem The oven or grill will not fight. Check ® Check that the oven is switched on at the wall. ® Check that the timer is set to ‘manual’ {Sea page 18} ® Check that there has not been a power failure.

IMPORTANT SAFETY REQUIREMENTS This appliance must be installed in accordance with the Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Refutations Current Editions. Detailed recommendations are contained in the following British Standard Codes of Practice BS.6172, B85440; Part 2 and BS.6891. Al British Standards must be ‘Current Editions’. PROVISION FOR VENTILATION “The room containing the appliance should have an air supply in accordance with BS 5440: Part 2 Current Edition.
LOCATION OF APPLIANCE The appliance may be located in a kitchen, a Kitchen/diner or bed sitting room, but not located in a bathroom or shower room. It is essential that there is a minimum clearance of 3mm between the top surface of the appliance and the inside top of the cabinet. The unit must be fitted anti & cabinet conforming to Fig. 1. The following internal dimensions are particularly important. Height Minimum 879., Maximum Width 560. Minimum 70, . Maximum Solid Pipe Depth 560. Minimum NA.
INSTALLATION FLEXIBLE PIPE INSTALLATION. 1. FITTING THE APPLIANCE AND CABINET It is recommended that a s, 1100mm ion angled bayonet flexible hose (BFS) and a % straight socket (BFS) be used for the installation. However any approved hose of the right length can be used. IMPORTANT: Flexible tubing used must comply with B.S. 869 current editions L.P.G. flexible connections. must be of a type suitable for LP.G. and capable of operation up to lumbar and airy a red stripe, band or abet.
INSTALLATION sci pipe installation FITTING THE APPLIANCE AND CABINET. 1 Make suitable arrangements for gas and electrical supplies into the installation site. 2. CONNECTION TO ELECTRICITY SUPPLY WARNING: This appliance must be earthed, do not earth this appliance 1o the gas supply piping. This appliance must be connected 1o a 220V-240V AC. 50Hz supply which incorporates a 3 ampere fuse. f any other type of plug is used it should incorporate a § ampere fuse either in the plug or adapter or at the distribution board. The appliance is supplied with 2 meters (8.5 ft) of § ampere 3 core cable fitted with a mauled plug.
4 Tum oft the electricity supply and the thermostat; disconnect the pressure gauge and replace the test point plug. Tum on the gas supply and check for gas soundness. NOTE . 7. CHECKING THE MAIN OVEN 1 Seethe clock as described in section 8, the clock is now ready for manual operation. 2 Turn the main thermostat knob to Mk. § and check that there is sparking from the ignition system. This should continue unit the oven burner is alight. If ignition does not work refer to Fault Finding Guide on Page 35. 3 When the oven burner fights up the sparking should cease, there should be a low gas rate at first to the oven burner which is the flame supervision device by apse rate.

SERVICING NOTES Disconnect the electricity supply and tum off the gas supply before servicing any gas canting components, After servicing tum on the gas supply and check for gas soundness. Adler servicing ensure that the serviced components and appliance operate correctly. A. REMOVAL OF FASCIA PANEL 1 Remove the gas control knobs, springs, bezels and timer control knobs. 2 Remove the four screws {two sate side) which are visible on the underside of the fascia, Fig. 8.
c. s 8 REMOVAL OF TIMER Disconnect from electricity supply. Remove fascia panel {see Section A). Remove ihe two screws from the timer bracket securing it to the contra panel, Lift out the timer assembly and disconnect the leads from the rear of the timer. Push in the four securing tags. One each side and two on the underside of the timer, {may require the use of a screwdriver) and remove the bracket from the timer, Fit the new timer in reverse order. Rewire a8 wiring diagram {see Page 34).
H. REMOVAL OF OVEN BURNER ELECTRODE 1 Remove oven furniture. 2 Remove oven boomer box retaining clips (one spring clip from each side} and remove the box front cover. 3 Replace the spring clips to secure the burner box. 4 From inside the oven remove the oven electrode fixing screw, ease the electrode forward and pull off the H.T. wire. Take care that the H.T. lead is retained, otherwise it may become inaccessible. 5 Reassemble in reverse order. 1.
L. REMOVAL OF GRILL ELECTRODE Remove grill boomer assembly (See Section K, parts e Remove the grill electrode retaining screw. Reassemble in reverse order. Check spark gap 3-mm and check ignition is satisfactory. W Fig.17 M. REMOVAL OF GRILL BURNER INJECTOR Reverie grit burner see section K. The injector may be reproved from the injector block through the aperture in the rear of the cavity with @ boombox spanner (see Fig.17). 3 Re-assemble in reverse order ensuring the injector and block union is gas tight.
REMOVAL OF GRILL TAP Partially remove the appliance from the cabinet {see Section N}. Unscrew the six screws which secure the front half of the top pane and remove it Disconnect the grill supply pipe from the tap body. Remove the cam from the tap spindle {remove the fascia if necessary see Section A). Remove the two screws securing the tap to the gas rail and remove the fap. Reassemble in rovers order ensuring that: i) Anew seal is correctly fitted between the tap and the gas rail.
