and the loudest sound. If the dynamic range is very high
there are very soft sounds as well as very loud sounds.
Under some circumstances this may present a problem
with playback. Let us assume that you are listening to a
radio station in a relatively loud environment. By increas-
ing the volume you can play the quiet sections louder.
This however has the disadvantage that the loud sections
become uncomfortably loud. It makes sense here to
reduce the dynamic range. Select between the options:
- DRC Off: The dynamic range is not reduced.
- DRC Low: The dynamic range is slightly reduced.
- DRC High: The dynamic range is sharply reduced.
Factory reset: Press the INFO / SCAN button if you want
to reset the device to the default factory settings. All
settings which you have made will be lost.
SW version: Here, you can display the Software Version
of the device.
Alarm Function
General
Two alarm times can be set.
You can set, activate, and deactivate the alarm times only
during standby.
You’d like to be woken up by radio? Set the desired
station in advance.
Important! Consider setting the required volume with
the VOLUME control. The unit switches on with the last
set volume.
The instructions for setting alarm time 1 are given below:
Setting the Alarm Time
1. Switch the device off.
2. Press the MENU button. The standby menu will pop up.
3. Select the the menu “Alarm 1 setting” with the TUNE
controller. Confirm with the ENTER button. “AL 1 Set
Alarm 1 Off” will appear on the display.
4. Select the setting “On” with the TUNE controller. Confirm
with the ENTER button. The hours start flashing.
5. Set the hours with the TUNE controller.
6. Confirm the setting with the ENTER button.
7. Repeat steps 5 and 6 to set the minutes.
8. Select the wake-up mode with the TUNE controller.
Choose one of the following settings:
DAB Mode = You are woken up with the DAB station
received last.
FM Mode = You are woken up with the FM station
received last.
Buzzer = You are woken up with a beep.
9. Confirm the setting with the ENTER button.
10. Select the time at which the alarm time needs to be
activated. Select from: ONE TIME, EVERY DAY, Sunday
till Saturday.
11. Confirm the setting with the ENTER button.
NOTE:
If you do not select “ONE TIME” or “EVERY DAY” you
need to confirm each day with the ENTER button.
12. The alarm time is stored. The symbol shows in the
display.
Proceed as described above to set the second alarm time.
Select the menu “Alarm 2 Setting” with the TUNE controller.
The activated alarm will be displayed in standby mode with
the symbol “
“ for the first alarm and the symbol “ for
the second alarm.
Turn off the alarm signal
Press the button POW / FUN to stop the alarm signal.
Snooze
The automatically set alarm function can be switched off for
9minutes with the SLP / SNZ button. The display shows “
“.
Deactivate alarm function
Proceed as described in the section “Setting the Alarm
Time” (step 1 to 3). Select the setting “Alarm 1 or 2 off”.
Confirm with the ENTER button.
AUX IN socket
For connecting to external players, e.g. MP3 player, smart-
phone, tablet PC etc. (Cable not included)
1. Please connect the external device with a 3.5 mm stereo
jack plug to the AUX IN socket.
2. Start the playback of your audio source. You will hear the
sound playback from the external device through the
loudspeakers. You can use the VOLUME control to adjust
the volume. The control buttons are not operational.
3. For the remaining procedure please see the operating
instructions of the external sound source.
NOTE:
Adjust the volume of the external device to a comfortable
level.
Cleaning and Maintenance
CAUTION:
Do not immerse the device in water.
Always remove the mains plug before cleaning the
machine.
Any marks on the surface can be wiped off with a slightly
damp cloth without any additives.
