2 Safety
2.1 Equipment Safety
The equipment complies with currently applicable regulations and
standards.
The equipment has been designed and built in accordance with:
DIN VDE 0100-410 - Low-voltage electrical installations
The requirements of BGR A3 are met through compliance with
DIN EN 62109-1 (IEC 62109-1).
The CE marking on the equipment confirms compliance with
2006/95/EC - Low Voltage Directive and
2004/108/EC - EMC Directive
When in operation, the equipment poses residual hazards which
cannot be countered by design. To restrict such risks, observe the
safety instructions ( Chapter 2.6).
All connection cables and the equipment housing must be visually
checked for damage before commissioning.
Ensure that the installation is in perfect condition.
2.1.1 Installation Location
The equipment is intended for outdoor use.
Environmental conditions: according to DIN EN 60721-3-4
(IEC 721-3-4) technical data.
When selecting the installation location, regional regulations
governing noise emissions must be taken into account; if re-
quired, a soundproofing report must be obtained.
Install the equipment at a slight elevation; do not install it in ar-
eas subject to flooding or those with a high groundwater level.
Slope the land around the equipment with a gradient of at least
3% for drainage purposes.
Freely accessible air vents for heat dissipation.
Ensure cooling type F (DIN 41751).
The foundation must be dimensioned for the weight of the
equipment ( technical data).
Maintain a distance of at least 5 m from flammable objects.
Observe the applicable local fire protection requirements.
Safety signs must be attached to the OD system door
( Chapter 2.3.2 - safety and warning signs in the operating
area) in accordance with the country-specific regulations. The
owner is responsible for putting up the signs.
The country-specific regulations must be observed when mapping
the escape routes. Observe the dimensions and the opening angle
of the doors dimensional drawing (*.DD). We recommend an
empty area of at least 1000 mm in all directions to provide ample
space for performing the work required for installation, laying ca-
bles, servicing and repair.
