he operating and maintenance personnel must regularly and veri-
fiably document behaviour in the event of a fire according to
DIN VDE 0132 or country-specific regulations.

Ensure compliance with DIN VDE 0132 and country-specific
standards when tackling fires in electrical equipment.
• Saving lives is more important than damage to property.
• Alert the fire service/rescue workers (call 112).
WARNING
Water or foam as an extinguishing agent for electrical
equipment
Risk to life due to electric shock.
Use CO2 or
class D extinguishing agents.
Do not use water or foam.

Perform regular maintenance (inspection, measuring, testing)
on electrical equipment for preventive fire protection according
to DIN VDE 0100-610 (IEC/EN 61557).

If a smell or smoke is spreading or in the case of fire, safely
disconnect the system immediately, inform the person respon-
sible for the equipment and the maintenance personnel, and
initiate fire-fighting measures if necessary.
2.4 Safety Awareness
Risks are reduced by observing the safety instructions and the
training given pertaining to safety measures at the workplace.
• Warning signs and safety instructions must be noted and com-
plied with at all times when working.
• Before deactivating the safety equipment, initiate the opera-
tional measures imparted during training.
• Only physically and mentally healthy personnel are allowed to
work on the system. Personnel must not work under the com-
promising influence of medication, drugs or alcohol.
• Do not bring inflammable or explosive material near the
equipment.
