2.5.1 Warning Levels
Signal words, warning colours and safety signs identify the warn-
ing level and immediately indicate the probability, type and seri-
ousness of the consequences if the measures for avoiding the
hazard are not followed.

2.5.2 Safety Signs in the Operating Area
At the entrance door to the operating area, safety signs must be
put up in an easily visible position and according to the country-
specific regulations, to warn about unauthorised and restricted en-
try and provide rules for conduct in the operating area.

In the case of strong electromagnetic fields, prohibitions must be
put up for people with pacemakers and implants made of metal.
Safety signs and warning notices are located in the vicinity of dan-
ger spots. They provide information about electrical hazards and
residual hazards associated with working on and with the equip-
ment.
Within the framework of the legal provisions of ASR A2.3
(IEC 60364-7-729), the equipment owner is responsible for the
equipment installation and ensuring that safety signs are displayed
for dangerous situations, including fire and escape route drawings,
emergency exit information, emergency numbers and handling in-
formation.
2.6 Safety Instructions
Safety and warning signs identify danger spots and are laid out
according to DIN ISO 3864 and ANSI Z535.4.
