Relative air humidity
The hydrostat is set to 80 % relative air humidity at the factory. If
the air humidity in the OD cabinet is above 80 %, the cabinet heat-
ing is switched on.
5.5 Insulation Monitoring of the PV Cells
Insulation measurements and tests are carried out with an inte-
grated isometer. The insulation resistance detected is compared
with two limit values stored in the isometer. If the insulation re-
sistance is below one of the limit values, the unit generates a sig-
nal. The limit values can be displayed and modified on the isome-
ter.
The insulation resistance detected and the signals are displayed
and sent to the equipment control system. Signalling faults are
generated from the two isometer signals ( Chapter 5.7.3 - Table
of Faults).
Sequence control behaviour differs depending on which solar cells
are connected.
The solar cells do not need to be earthed for operation with mono-
crystalline or polycrystalline solar cells. In this case, insulation
measurement is always active.
For operation with thin-film solar cells, the solar cells must be
earthed. In this case, insulation measurement is not active during
earthing.
Insulation measurement sequence control features a "Mainte-
nance mode" for thin-film solar cells. Activating this operating
mode disconnects earthing when mowing areas where solar pan-
els are installed, for example.
5.5.1 Monocrystalline or Polycrystalline Solar Cells
General:
- No active earthing is required.
Sequence control:
- Insulation monitoring is always active.
Maintenance mode:
- Not present.
Starting the insulation test manually:
- No action as insulation testing is always active.
5.5.2 Thin-Film Solar Cells
General
Active earthing required.
Active earthing is switched on during the day and switches off at
night. An insulation test is carried out at night.
When active earthing is switched on, the signals of the isometer
are ignored.
Once active earthing is switched off, the digital signals of the
isometer are evaluated and the analogue measured value is dis-
played.
