6 Storage and Transport
6.1 Packaging
The equipment is packaged for the corresponding shipping type at
the factory. Each control cabinet is fixed to the transport pallet us-
ing four bolts and is packed airtight in plastic film to prevent any
damage to the paint and to protect it against moisture. A desiccant
is placed inside.
i
Do not remove the packaging until you are about to begin
preparing for installation. This is to avoid unnecessary dam-
age to the equipment.
The packaging material should be disposed of according to
applicable environmental regulations and country-specific
regulations of the owner.
Stretch plastic film and moulded parts made of polyeth-
ylene foam are chemically inactive and can be disposed of
and recycled with normal industrial waste.
6.2 Storage
The OD equipment may be stored in a dry and well ventilated envi-
ronment in its original packaging for a maximum of 6 months.
Permissible storage temperature: -35 to +70 °C
•
Permissible relative humidity: 85 %
•
i
In the event of a longer storage period, desiccants
must be replaced every six months.
Remove any condensation water within the equipment, replace the
desiccant and package the equipment in plastic film again so that it
is airtight. If there is constant condensation, connect the auxiliary
power supply, activate the equipment heating and keep the ventila-
tion openings clear.
To prevent distortions, the equipment should only be temporarily
stored on a ground surface that is free from vegetation and is ca-
pable of bearing it. For temporary storage purposes, leave the
equipment on the transport pallet or place it on a suitable substruc-
ture.
