7.7.2 Configuration
No configuration work is required on the communication interface
in order to attach the Protect PV to the PV.LoG data logger. Once
the bus line has been installed and the system has been powered
up, the configuration settings are made fully automatically.
If you are using an in-house/third-party monitoring system, you can
adjust the transmission parameters and the slave address of the
Modbus interface to suit the new requirements via port 1 (X2).
The device profile of the Modbus protocol is required if your own
devices are to be integrated. This can be requested from AEG PS.
7.8 MCE MultiCom Ethernet Interface
The MCE MultiCom network interface is only required for AEG PS
service and is intended for remote maintenance. AEG PS service
can use special service tools to access the Protect PV and carry
out diagnostics via a tunnel in the network (Internet).
For this reason, the assembly is provided with an IP address, net-
mask and gateway in the local network.
