1.9 Target Groups
These instructions are intended for:
The equipment owner or person appointed by him/her (the
•
party responsible for the equipment, the party responsible
for the work).
Skilled personnel responsible for installation, commission-
•
ing, operation and maintenance.
Transport personnel in the case of a change of site.
•
1.9.1 Obligations of the Equipment Owner
The equipment owner or a natural or legal person authorised by
him/her is responsible for the proper condition and safe operation
of the electrical equipment.
To ensure the safety of the equipment, the equipment owner must:
• Maintain the equipment in perfect working order and operate it
in accordance with good electrical engineering practice.
• Always keep the marked electrical operating area with restrict-
ed access locked during normal operation. Maintain access to
the equipment at all times.
• Check for faults immediately if abnormal disruptions in equip-
ment operation occur.
To ensure the safety of skilled personnel, the equipment owner must:
• Select skilled personnel based on skills and training with doc-
umented proof ( Chapter 1.9.2).
• Have the operating instructions available and check for com-
pliance with them.
• Install external emergency stop devices and connect them to
the control room (IEC 60947).
• Maintain all safety signs so that they are in perfect condition,
complete and easily visible and readable.
• Train skilled personnel regularly in all required protective
measures and safety regulations and document this.
• Keep personal safety equipment available for transport per-
sonnel and skilled personnel in accordance with ANSI Z 359,
train them in the use of the safety equipment and document
this.
• Install emergency lights, fire extinguishers and life-saving
equipment next to the equipment (IEC 60598).
• Instruct skilled personnel about the location and handling of
fire-extinguishing and life-saving equipment and document this.
• Carry out prescribed checking and maintenance work at the
appropriate times and correctly (DIN VDE 0105-100, BGV A3).
• Shut down the equipment immediately and inform the mainte-
nance personnel if abnormal faults occur.
