1.9.2 Qualifications of Skilled Personnel
Only trained, skilled personnel may perform the work, using tools,
equipment and test equipment intended for the purpose and in per-
fect working order.
Skilled personnel means electricians:
Personnel with suitable specialist training, knowledge and experi-
ence who recognise and can avoid dangers that are associated
with electricity.
Person responsible for the equipment:
Electrician who has been appointed and given direct responsibility
for operating the equipment.
Person responsible for work:
Electrician who has been appointed and given direct responsibility
for carrying out the work.
The person responsible for the equipment and the person respon-
sible for work are nominated by the equipment owner and can be a
single person if they are trained, skilled personnel.
Before work commences, the person responsible for work must in-
form the person responsible for the equipment and agree on a
work schedule with him/her.

A safe disconnection certificate or a release certificate for the
equipment according to DIN VDE 0105100 (EN 50110) must
be presented for all maintenance work.
Transport personnel:
Transport and storage are to be carried out by transport personnel.
Transport personnel are personnel working specifically in the area
of transport who can exhibit the necessary qualifications,
knowledge and training.
1.9.3 Obligations of Skilled Personnel:
Read and understand the operating instructions before begin-
ning work.
Safely disconnect the equipment before beginning any work
( Chapter 2.6.1).
Remove the disconnection after completion of work.
Ensure compliance with the following regulations:
The regulations on accident prevention applicable in the
country where the system is used and the generally applica-
ble safety regulations as defined in standard VDE 0100-410
(IEC 364)
