Troubleshooting
If faults occur during operation of the device, you should
rst check the table below before contacting your
specialist dealer or our customer service department.
In the case of technical defects, the device may only be
repaired by range specialists.
Problem Possible Solution
No power Check whether the mains plug is
correctly connected.
Switch the device off and on again.
Cannot read disc The player needs up to 10 seconds to
read in DVDs.
For MP3, WMA and JPEG discs up to
15 seconds are required.
The disc is scratched or bent and must
not be used any more.
No picture Check the cable connections and the
connection settings (see section on
„Connections“).
The AV settings must correspond to the
video output format.
Picture too dark If you have connected a scart cable
you must not connect any other video
cable at the same time (see section on
„Connections“).
Picture interference The wrong television standard has been
selected (NTSC instead of PAL).
No sound Check the cable connections and the
connection settings (see section on
„Connections“).
Ensure that the sound has not been
switched off.
When an optical
or coaxial cable is
used no sound is
produced.
Check the following settings:
a) For SPDIF OUTPUT the OFF setting
must have been selected.
b) When a stereo system was connected
an incorrect setting was selected.
Player does not
react to the remote
control
Check whether the batteries have been
inserted the right way round.
Replace old batteries. Point the remote
control directly at the reception sensor
on the player.
Unit does not react
to key input or there
is picture or sound
interference.
Switch the player off and then on again. If
this does not rectify the problem, the unit
should be disconnected from the mains
power supply for 10 minutes.
Forgotten password Stop playback and call up the setup
mode. Enter the password 8888. This will
switch off the child protection.
Static electrical fi elds or other external interference may
adversely affect the operation of the device. In such
cases please switch the device off and remove the plug
from the socket before switching it on again.
