Connecting the Audio cable
Fig. 2/21
Fig. 2/12
You can choose from three transmission methods for audio signals.
You must generally choose  rst whether you would like to have the
sound coming from your TV, or through a Stereo or 5.1-Ampli er. The
Audio cable must then be connected to the TV or an ampli er accord-
ingly.
NOTE:
If your ampli er is equipped with a digital output, you should use the
ampli er. You will experience a much better audio quality, and the
installation is much easier.
Stereo
Connect both Audio cables for the right and the left speakers to your
playback device or your ampli er.
1. Plug the Audio jacks into the sockets on the back of the player.
2. Plug the Audio jacks into the corresponding sockets on your play-
back device or your ampli er.
5.1-Audio signal (Connecting the Loudspeakers Supplied)
If you would like to achieve a replay of almost original quality you
should use an Audio output by means of a 5.1-Audio signal.
Here you should use the 6 loudspeakers supplied. Four of these speakers
are placed in the four corners of the room. One speaker is positioned
close to the playback device. The sixth speaker serves the output of very
low tones. With this arrangement of speakers a very natural stere-
ophonic sound is achieved.
Connect the SPEAKERS OUT connection on the rear of the DVD player to
the corresponding connections on the rear of the individual loudspeak-
ers.
Proceed as follows:
1. Connect the end of the cable to the socket on the rear of the device.
Please ensure the correct con guration:
- (1) Connection for Subwoofer: Bass
- (2) Connection for Center speaker
- (3) Speaker rear right
- (4) Speaker rear left
- (5) Speaker front right
- (6) Speaker front left
2. Connect the other end of the cable to the corresponding sockets of
your playback device or ampli er.
