Refilling Dishwasher Detergent Important! Do not use washing up liquid in the dishwasher. This causes excessive foaming and does not clean the dishes properly. It can even damage the dishwasher. Only use detergents intended for domestic dishwashers. St org the detergent in a dry and sealed container. Detergent which has become lumpy will no longer clean the dishes.
