Getting started
GB
1. Place the machine on a  at surface.
When starting the machine for
the  rst time,  ll the tank with cold
water. Start the machine with the
ON/OFF switch. Let a full tank of
water pass through the machine
once or twice to clean it, without
using paper  lter or co ee. The jug
is microwave proof.
3. Insert a size 1x4 paper  lter in the
lter holder and  ll it with ground
co ee. There is a gauge for recom-
mended number of spoons of
co ee next to the water gauge. For
average strong co ee 1 measuring
spoon (approx. 6-7 g) per cup is suf-
cient. Close the water tank lid and
place the jug back (complete with
lid).
2. Making coff ee: open the lid and
ll the water tank with fresh cold
water up to the desired level. There
is a fresh water gauge for 2–10 big
cups / 4–15 small cups in the water
tank and on the co ee jug. (The
machine must not be used with
empty tank!)
4. Start the machine with the ON/
OFF switch. The power indicator
light will come on and hot water
will  ow into the  lter. If the ma-
chine is not turned o manually, the
Safety Auto-O function turns it o
after 120 minutes. For the thermo
jug model, the machine is auto-
matically turned o after brewing.
5. If the jug is removed, the  lter
valve prevents co ee from dripping
onto the warming plate. (While
preparing coff ee, the jug must
not be removed for longer than
30 seconds or the  lter will over-
ow.)
6. The Aroma Selector extends the
brewing time to maximize the  a-
vour extraction and get a stronger
co ee for a small number of cups
(normally less than 6). Press the
Aroma button, the light will turn on.
