ENGLISH 1. 3 SAFETY INFORMATION Before the installation and use of the appliance, carefully read the supplied instructions. The manufacturer is not responsible for any injuries or damages that are the result of incorrect installation or usage. Always keep the instructions in a safe and accessible location for future reference. 1.1 Children and vulnerable people safety WARNING! Risk of suffocation, injury or permanent disability.
www.aeg.com • • • • • • • • • • • • • Do not install the appliance behind a lockable door, a sliding door or a door with a hinge on the opposite side, that would prevent the appliance door from being fully opened. Connect the mains plug to the mains socket only at the end of the installation process. Make sure that the mains plug is accessible after installation. The ventilation opening in the base (if applicable) must not be covered by a carpet, mat, or any floor covering.
ENGLISH • • • • • • • • • • • 5 Items that have been soiled with substances such as vegetable or mineral oil, acetone, alcohol, petrol, kerosene, spot removers, turpentine, waxes and wax removers should be washed separately with an extra amount of detergent before being dried in the washer dryer. Do not use the appliance if items have been soiled with industrial chemicals. Do not dry unwashed items in the wash dryer.
www.aeg.com • Always keep the appliance vertical when being moved. • To make sure the compressor works properly, wait 6 hours after the installation before using the appliance. • Make sure that there is air circulation between the appliance and the floor. • Remove all the packaging and the transit bolts. • The floor area where the appliance is to be installed must be flat, stable, heat resistant and clean. • Keep the transit bolts in a safe place.
ENGLISH • The compressor and its system in the washer-dryer is filled with the special agent which is free from fluorochlorohydrocarbons. This system must stay tight. The damage of the system can cause a leakage. 2.6 Disposal • Disconnect the appliance from the mains electrical and water supplies. 7 • Cut off the mains electrical cable close to the appliance and dispose of it. • Remove the door catch to prevent children or pets from becoming trapped in the drum.
www.aeg.com • Remove the internal film. • Open the door. • Remove the polystyrene piece from the door seal and all the items from the drum. • Put one of the polystyrene packaging elements on the floor behind the appliance. • Carefully put down the appliance with the rear side on it. • Make sure not to damage the hoses. • Remove the polystyrene protection from the bottom.
ENGLISH 9 • Fully clean and dry the bottom of the appliance. • Do not use alcohol, solvents or chemical products. Make sure to identify the different sizes and the positions of the sound barriers. Refer to the illustration: • A (FRONT) = Front of the appliance • B (BACK) = Rear of the appliance A B x4 • Remove the adhesive strip from the silent barriers. • Attach the four barriers to bottom of the appliance. • Refer to the illustration. Make sure that the barriers are securely attached.
www.aeg.com • Remove the power supply cable and the drain hose from the hose holders. It is possible to see water flowing from the drain hose. This is due to the testing with water of the appliances in factory. • Remove the three bolts. • Use the key supplied with the appliance. • Pull out the plastic spacers. • Put the plastic caps in the holes. • You can find these caps in the user manual bag. We recommend that you keep the packaging and the transit bolts for any movement of the appliance. 3.
ENGLISH 11 3.3 Installation under a counter The appliance can be installed as freestanding or below the kitchen counter with correct space (see picture). 600 mm ≥ 870 mm CAUTION! Do not install the appliance inside a sealed hollow! Make sure that there is air circulation throw the bottom of the furniture. 600 mm CAUTION! To assure free air circulation under the appliance, do not attach the sound barriers (if available). 3.4 Positioning and levelling • Install the appliance on a flat hard floor.
www.aeg.com 3.5 The inlet hose • Connect the hose to the back appliance. Turn the inlet hose only left or right. • Loose the ring nut to set it in the correct position. 45 20 O O • Connect the water inlet hose to the cold water tap with 3/4" thread. CAUTION! Make sure that there are no leaks from the couplings. Do not use an extension hose if the inlet hose is too short. Contact the service centre for the replacement of the inlet hose. 3.
ENGLISH 13 • Make a U shape with the drain hose. On the edge of a sink • Make sure that the plastic guide cannot move when the appliance drains. Attach the guide to the water tap or the wall. To a stand pipe with vent-hole • Directly into a drain pipe at a height of not less than 60 cm (23.6”) and not more than 100 cm (39.3”). Refer to the illustration. • The end of the drain hose must always be ventilated , i.e. the inner diameter of the drain pipe (min. 38 mm - min. 1.

Put the drain hose in the spigot and tighten it with a clip. • Make sure that the drain hose makes a loop to prevent particles going into the appliance from the sink. To a wall-pipe • Directly to a built-in drain pipe in the room wall and tighten it with a clip. You can extend the drain hose to maximum 400 cm. Contact the service centre for the other drain hose and the extension. 4. PRODUCT DESCRIPTION 4.

This device prevents children or pets from being closed in the drum. 4.3 Accessories Turn the device clockwise, until the groove is horizontal. ENGLISH 17 5.2 Display A K J B I H G C F D E The display shows: A The text bar: • Guides you in the use of the appliance. • Shows the programme status and phase. • Shows alarm messages. Refer to 'Troubleshooting' . The symbols appear on the display when the related phase or function is set. B Child safety lock Door locked C You cannot open the appliance door when the symbol is on. You can open the door only when the symbol goes off.
www.aeg.com Digit area Time of the day When you activate the appliance the display shows the time of the day for some seconds. To adjust the clock, refer to "Clock setting". Programme duration When you set the programme, the cycle duration is displayed for a few seconds then, the time of the programme end appears again. Programme duration indicator The indicator comes on when the digits shows the programme duration.

ENGLISH 7. CONSUMPTION VALUES Stated values are obtained in laboratory conditions with relevant standards. Different causes can change the data: the quantity and type of laundry and ambient temperature. Water pressure, the supply voltage and the temperature of inlet water may also affect the washing programme duration. Technical specifications may be changed without prior notice to improve the quality of product.
www.aeg.com If you deactivate the acoustic signals, they continue operate only when you touch the buttons and when a malfunction occurs. 8.2 Child Lock function • After you touch Start/Pause : all the buttons and the programme knob are deactivated. • Before you touch Start/Pause : the appliance cannot start. 8.3 Permanent Extra Rinse With this function you can prevent that the children play with the control panel.
ENGLISH 9.7 Start/Pause • Soak Use this function for heavy soil. The appliance soaks the laundry at 30°C for about half an hour before to wash. • Stains Use this function for laundry with hard stains to remove. When you set this function, put the stain remover into Touch button Start/Pause to start or interrupt a programme. 9.8 Zeitvorwahl Touch button Zeitvorwahl to delay the start of a programme from 30 minutes to 20 hours. 9.9 Zeit Sparen Touch button Zeit Sparen to decrease the programme time.

ENGLISH 11.5 Liquid or powder detergent 1. 1 2 Washing heavily oiled, greasy stains could cause damage rubber parts of the washing machine. Open the detergent dispenser. 2. 11.4 Filling the detergent and additives A Position A: for powder detergent (factory setting). 3. Compartment for prewash phase, soak programme or stain remover. Compartment for washing phase. B Compartment for liquid additives (fabric conditioner, starch). Maximum level for quantity of liquid additives.

After approximately 15 minutes from the start of the programme: • The appliance adjusts automatically the cycle time to the laundry you have put in the drum to have perfect washing results in the minimum necessary time. • The display shows the new time value. Close the detergent dispenser. When you use the liquid detergent: • Do not use gelatinous or thick liquid detergents. • Do not put more liquid then the maximum level. • Do not set the prewash phase.
ENGLISH 11.11 Cancelling a running programme 1. Press button Ein/Aus to cancel the programme and to deactivate the appliance. 2. Press button Ein/Aus again to activate the appliance. Now, you can set a new washing programme. Before starting the new programme, the appliance could drain the water. In this case, make sure that the detergent is still in the detergent compartment; if not, fill the detergent again. 11.
www.aeg.com When you activate the appliance again, the display show the end of the last set programme. Turn the programme knob to set a new cycle. 2. Remove the laundry from the appliance. 3. Make sure that the drum is empty. 4. Keep the door and air filter ajar, to prevent mildew and odours. 12. DAILY USE - DRYING ONLY WARNING! Refer to Safety chapters. 12.1 Preparation to drying 1. Press button Ein/Aus for some seconds to activate the appliance 2. Load the laundry one item at a time. 3.
ENGLISH 12.4 At the end of the drying programme • The appliance stops automatically. • The acoustic signals operate (if they are active). • In the display comes on. The text bar tells you that the programme is completed. • The indicator of button Start/Pause goes off. The door locked off goes 33 • Press the button Ein/Aus for some seconds to deactivate the appliance. After some minutes from the end of the programme, the energy saving function automatically deactivates the appliance. 1.

The text bar tells that the appliance is operating. 13.4 At the end of the programme The appliance stops automatically. The acoustic signals operate (if they are active). ENGLISH 14.2 Stubborn stains For some stains, water and detergent is not sufficient. We recommend that you pre-treat these stains before you put the items in the appliance. Special stain removers are available. Use the special stain remover that is applicable to the type of stain and fabric. 14.
www.aeg.com • = The drying cycle is at high temperature • = The drying cycle is at reduced temperature • = The item can not be tumble dried. 14.9 Drying cycle duration The drying time can change depending on: • speed of the last spin • dryness level • type of laundry • weight of the load 14.10 Additional drying If, at the end of the drying programme, the laundry is still damp, set a short drying cycle again. WARNING! To avoid creasing and shrinkage do not overdry the laundry. 14.
ENGLISH Regularly examine the seal and remove all objects from the inner part. 15.5 Cleaning the detergent dispenser 1. 2. 1 2 3. 4. 15.6 Cleaning the air filters The air filters collect the fluff. The fluff normally occurs when the clothes are dried in a washer-dryer. • At the end of each drying cycle in the display the indicator is on to advise to clean the primary air filter. The text bar suggests to clean the primary filter (see pictures from 1 to 5).

ENGLISH To have best drying performances clean regularly the air filters with warm water and afterwards dry them with a towel. Clogged air filter increases the drying time and the energy consumption! WARNING! The primary filter recess must not be blocked by any object. If you only wash the laundry with your washer-dryer, it is normal to find some humidity in the primary air filter. 15.7 Cleaning the drain filter WARNING! Do not clean the drain filter if the water in the appliance is hot.

Refer to 'Troubleshooting'.

Make sure that the couplings are tight to prevent leakages. • Open the water tap. 45° 20° 15.9 Emergency drain Because of a malfunction, the appliance cannot drain the water.
www.aeg.com 15.10 Frost precautions If the appliance is installed in an area where the temperature can be less than 0° C, remove the remaining water from the inlet hose and the drain pump. 1. Disconnect the mains plug from the mains socket. 2. Close the water tap. 3. Put the two ends of the inlet hose in a container and let the water flow out of the hose. 4. Empty the drain pump. Refer to the emergency drain procedure. 5. When the drain pump is empty, install the inlet hose again.
