ENGLISH 1. 3 SAFETY INFORMATION Before the installation and use of the appliance, carefully read the supplied instructions. The manufacturer is not responsible for any injuries or damages that are the result of incorrect installation or usage. Always keep the instructions in a safe and accessible location for future reference. 1.1 Children and vulnerable people safety WARNING! Risk of suffocation, injury or permanent disability.
www.aeg.com • • • • • • • • • • • • • Do not install the appliance behind a lockable door, a sliding door or a door with a hinge on the opposite side, that would prevent the appliance door from being fully opened. Connect the mains plug to the mains socket only at the end of the installation process. Make sure that the mains plug is accessible after installation. The ventilation opening in the base (if applicable) must not be covered by a carpet, mat, or any floor covering.

If the appliance is to be moved in future they must be reattached to lock the drum to prevent internal damage. • Always take care when moving the appliance as it is heavy. Always use safety gloves and enclosed footwear. • Do not install or use a damaged appliance. • Do not install the appliance where the appliance door cannot be fully opened.
ENGLISH 2.6 Disposal • Disconnect the appliance from the mains electrical and water supplies. • Cut off the mains electrical cable close to the appliance and dispose of it. • Remove the door catch to prevent children or pets from becoming trapped in the drum. 7 • Dispose of the appliance in accordance with local requirements for the disposal of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE). 3. www.aeg.com • Remove the internal film. • Open the door. • Remove the polystyrene piece from the door seal and all the items from the drum. • Put one of the polystyrene packaging elements on the floor behind the appliance. • Carefully put down the appliance with the rear side on it. • Make sure not to damage the hoses. • Remove the polystyrene protection from the bottom.
ENGLISH 9 • Fully clean and dry the bottom of the appliance. • Do not use alcohol, solvents or chemical products. Make sure to identify the different sizes and the positions of the sound barriers. Refer to the illustration: • A (FRONT) = Front of the appliance • B (BACK) = Rear of the appliance A B x4 • Remove the adhesive strip from the silent barriers. • Attach the four barriers to bottom of the appliance. • Refer to the illustration. Make sure that the barriers are securely attached.
www.aeg.com • Remove the power supply cable and the drain hose from the hose holders. It is possible to see water flowing from the drain hose. This is due to the testing with water of the appliances in factory. • Remove the three bolts. • Use the key supplied with the appliance. • Pull out the plastic spacers. • Put the plastic caps in the holes. • You can find these caps in the user manual bag. We recommend that you keep the packaging and the transit bolts for any movement of the appliance. 3.
ENGLISH 11 3.3 Installation under a counter The appliance can be installed as freestanding or below the kitchen counter with correct space (see picture). 600 mm ≥ 870 mm CAUTION! Do not install the appliance inside a sealed hollow! Make sure that there is air circulation throw the bottom of the furniture. 600 mm CAUTION! To assure free air circulation under the appliance, do not attach the sound barriers (if available). 3.4 Positioning and levelling • Install the appliance on a flat hard floor.
www.aeg.com 3.5 The inlet hose • Connect the hose to the back appliance. Turn the inlet hose only left or right. • Loose the ring nut to set it in the correct position. 45 20 O O • Connect the water inlet hose to the cold water tap with 3/4" thread. CAUTION! Make sure that there are no leaks from the couplings. Do not use an extension hose if the inlet hose is too short. Contact the service centre for the replacement of the inlet hose. 3.
ENGLISH 13 • Make a U shape with the drain hose. On the edge of a sink • Make sure that the plastic guide cannot move when the appliance drains. Attach the guide to the water tap or the wall. To a stand pipe with vent-hole • Directly into a drain pipe at a height of not less than 60 cm (23.6”) and not more than 100 cm (39.3”). Refer to the illustration. • The end of the drain hose must always be ventilated , i.e. the inner diameter of the drain pipe (min. 38 mm - min. 1.

Put the drain hose in the spigot and tighten it with a clip. • Make sure that the drain hose makes a loop to prevent particles going into the appliance from the sink. To a wall-pipe • Directly to a built-in drain pipe in the room wall and tighten it with a clip. You can extend the drain hose to maximum 400 cm. Contact the service centre for the other drain hose and the extension. 4. PRODUCT DESCRIPTION 4.

This device prevents children or pets from being closed in the drum. 4.3 Accessories Turn the device clockwise, until the groove is horizontal. ENGLISH 17 5.2 Display A K J B I H G C F D E The display shows: A The text bar: • Guides you in the use of the appliance. • Shows the programme status and phase. • Shows alarm messages. Refer to 'Troubleshooting' . The symbols appear on the display when the related phase or function is set. B Child safety lock Door locked C You cannot open the appliance door when the symbol is on. You can open the door only when the symbol goes off.
www.aeg.com Digit area Time of the day When you activate the appliance the display shows the time of the day for some seconds. To adjust the clock, refer to "Clock setting". Programme duration When you set the programme, the cycle duration is displayed for a few seconds then, the time of the programme end appears again. Programme duration indicator The indicator comes on when the digits shows the programme duration.

ENGLISH 25 At the start of the programme, the display shows the programme duration for the maximum load capacity. During the washing phase the programme duration is automatically calculated and can be greatly reduced if the laundry load is lower than the maximum load capacity (e.g. Cotton 60°C, maximum load capacity 9 kg, the programme duration exceeds 2 hours; actual load 1 kg, the programme duration will be less than 1 hour).

OPTIONS 9.1 Touch Screen Make sure the touch screen and buttons are always clean and dry. 9.2 Ein/Aus Press this button to activate or deactivate the appliance. A tune sounds when the appliance is activated.
ENGLISH 27 9.10 Extra Spülen 9.12 U./Min. Touch this button to add rinsing phases to a programme. Touch button U./Min. to: • Decrease the maximum speed of the spin phase of the programme. Use this function for persons allergic to detergents and in areas where the water is soft. 9.11 Flecken/Vorwäsche Touch this button to set one of the following functions: • Prewash Use this function for heavy soil. The appliance adds a prewash phase to the main wash. The programme duration increases.

Touch Start/Pause button to confirm the selection. 10.3 Language setting The first time you activate the appliance, the display shows the default language and tells you to confirm it or change it: 1. Turn the programme knob to set the desired language. 2. When the display shows the necessary language touch Start/ Pause button to confirm the selection. 10.
ENGLISH 11.4 Filling the detergent and additives 2. A Compartment for prewash phase, soak programme or stain remover. Compartment for washing phase. Compartment for liquid additives (fabric conditioner, starch). Maximum level for quantity of liquid additives. Flap for powder or liquid detergent. Always obey the instructions that you find on the packaging of the detergent products. 11.5 Liquid or powder detergent Position A: for powder detergent (factory setting). 3. www.aeg.com When you use the liquid detergent: • Do not use gelatinous or thick liquid detergents. • Do not put more liquid then the maximum level. • Do not set the prewash phase. • Do not set the delay start. 11.6 Starting a programme without the delay start Touch button Start/Pause to start the programme. The relevant indicator stops to flash and stays on with red colour. The programme starts, the door is locked. The display show the indicator .
ENGLISH 11.12 Opening the door WARNING! If the temperature and level of the water in the drum are too high and the drum still rotates you cannot open the door. While a programme or the delay start operates, the appliance door is locked. To open the appliance door: 1. Touch button Start/Pause. The door lock symbol in the display goes off. 2. Open the appliance door. 3. Close the appliance door and touch button Start/Pause. The programme or the delay start continues 11.
www.aeg.com 12. DAILY USE - DRYING ONLY WARNING! Refer to Safety chapters. 12.1 Preparation to drying 1. Press button Ein/Aus for some seconds to activate the appliance 2. Load the laundry one item at a time. 3. Turn the programme dial to the drying programme applicable for the items to dry. The text bar in the display tells which programme you have chosen.
ENGLISH After some minutes from the end of the programme, the energy saving function automatically deactivates the appliance. 33 1. Remove the laundry from the appliance. 2. Make sure that the drum is empty. 13. DAILY USE - WASHING & DRYING WARNING! Refer to Safety chapters. 13.1 NON-STOP programme You can wash and dry your laundry setting a «non stop-programme». Proceed as follows: 1. Press button Ein/Aus for some seconds to activate the appliance . 2. Load the laundry one item at a time. 3.

After drying phase, clean the air filters, the drum, the seal and the inside of the door with a wet cloth. 13.5 Fluff in the fabrics During the washing and/or drying phase, some types of fabric, (sponge, wool, sweatshirt) could release fluff.
ENGLISH 14.3 Detergents and additives • Only use detergents and additives specially made for washing machines: – powder detergents for all types of fabric, – powder detergents for delicate fabrics (40 °C max) and woollens, – liquid detergents, preferably for low temperature wash programmes (60 °C max) for all types of fabric, or special for woollens only (detergent flap rotated in position B in the main wash dispenser compartment). • Do not mix different types of detergents.
www.aeg.com 14.9 Drying cycle duration The drying time can change depending on: • speed of the last spin • dryness level • type of laundry • weight of the load 14.10 Additional drying If, at the end of the drying programme, the laundry is still damp, set a short drying cycle again. WARNING! To avoid creasing and shrinkage do not overdry the laundry. 14.11 General Tips The experience will help you to dry the laundry in a more correct way.
ENGLISH 15.5 Cleaning the detergent dispenser 1. 2. 1 2 3. 4. 15.6 Cleaning the air filters The air filters collect the fluff. The fluff normally occurs when the clothes are dried in a washer-dryer. • At the end of each drying cycle in the display the indicator is on to advise to clean the primary air filter. The text bar suggests to clean the primary filter (see pictures from 1 to 5). • Occasionally the indicator may flash to remind you that both air filters should be cleaned.

Clogged air filter increases the drying time and the energy consumption! WARNING! The primary filter recess must not be blocked by any object. If you only wash the laundry with your washer-dryer, it is normal to find some humidity in the primary air filter.

www.aeg.com 7. 8. 1 2 9. 2 1 15.8 Cleaning the inlet hose filter and the valve filter It could be necessary to clean the filters when: • The appliance does not fill with water. • The appliance fills with the water for a long time. • The indicator of button Start/Pause flashes and the display shows the related alarm. Refer to 'Troubleshooting'. To clean the water inlet filters: • Close the water tap. • Remove the water inlet hose from the water tap.
ENGLISH 41 • Remove the inlet hose behind the appliance. • Clean the filter in the valve with a stiff brush or a towel. • Install again the inlet hose. Make sure that the couplings are tight to prevent leakages. • Open the water tap. 45° 20° 15.9 Emergency drain 15.10 Frost precautions Because of a malfunction, the appliance cannot drain the water. If the appliance is installed in an area where the temperature can be less than 0° C, remove the remaining water from the inlet hose and the drain pump.
www.aeg.com WARNING! Make sure that the temperature is more than 5 °C and the water is flowing from the tap before you use the appliance again. The manufacturer is not responsible for damages caused by low temperatures. 16. TROUBLESHOOTING WARNING! Refer to Safety chapters. 16.1 Introduction The start of the appliance does not occur or it stops during operation. First try to find a solution to the problem (refer to the table). If not, contact the Authorised Service Centre.

Adjust manually the items in the drum and start the spin phase again. There is water on the floor. Make sure that the couplings of the water hoses are tight and there is not water leakages. Make sure that the drain hose have no damages.
ENGLISH 45 Problem Possible solution The washing cycle is longer than the time displayed. An unbalanced laundry load increases the duration time. This is a normal behaviour of the appliance. After a steam programme, garments are partially wet. Make sure that the appliance is accurately levelled. Adjust the appliance by raising or lowering the feet. After a steam programme, garments are not sufficiently smooth. Make sure that you set a correct STEAM programme.
