Water Cooling
It may be necessary to cool down the water before pumping it out in
order to prevent thermal damage to the plastic drainage pipes.

The water is cooled down before pumping out at the end of the main
wash cycle (by adding cold water). This setting only works on the
t} (COTTONS/LINEN, EASY-CARES) programme when the temper-
ature is above 40 °C.
When the appliance is supplied water cooling is not set except for the
e (SENSITIVE) programme option.
Setting the water cooling function:
0 1. Turn the programme selector to L (SHORT SPIN).
2. Press the k (PRE WASH) button for at least 5 seconds. After the but-
ton has been kept pressed for 5 seconds,
l (MAIN WASH) flashes on
the programme progress display for 5 seconds.
3. Release the k (PRE WASH) button while
l (MAIN WASH) is flashing.
Once it has stopped flashing, the water cooling function is set. It re-
mains set until it is cancelled again.
4. If you wish to check whether the water cooling function is set:
Turn the programme selector to L (SHORT SPIN).
Press the k (PRE WASH) button briefly.
When
l (MAIN WASH) flashes in the programme progress display, the
water cooling function is set.
Cancelling the water cooling function:
0 1. Turn the programme selector to L (SHORT SPIN).
2. Press the k (PRE WASH) button for at least 5 seconds.
l (MAIN
WASH) flashes in the programme progress display as soon as the button
is pressed. After 5 seconds
l (MAIN WASH) will stop flashing and re-
main constantly illuminated for 5 seconds.
3. While
l (MAIN WASH) is constantly illuminated, release the k (PRE
WASH) button. Once
l (MAIN WASH) is no longer illuminated, the
water cooling function has been cancelled.

Water cooling increases water consumption and the programme dura-
tion.
Additional Rinse and Water Cooling
You can combine the additional rinse cycle with water cooling. Setting
as for “Additional Rinse” and “Water Cooling”.
