ENGLISH 1. 3 SAFETY INFORMATION Before the installation and use of the appliance, carefully read the supplied instructions. The manufacturer is not responsible for any injuries or damages that are the result of incorrect installation or usage. Always keep the instructions in a safe and accessible location for future reference. 1.

ENGLISH • The floor area on which the appliance is to be installed must be flat, stable, heat resistant and clean. • Make sure that there is air circulation between the appliance and the floor. • When the appliance is in its permanent position, check if it is levelled correctly with the aid of a spirit level. If it is not, adjust the feet accordingly. • Do not install the appliance directly above a floor drain. • Do not spray water on the appliance and do not expose it to excessive humidity.
www.aeg.com 2.6 Disposal • Remove the door catch to prevent children or pets from becoming trapped in the drum. • Dispose of the appliance in accordance with local requirements for the disposal of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE). WARNING! Risk of injury or suffocation. • Disconnect the appliance from the mains electrical and water supplies. • Cut off the mains electrical cable close to the appliance and dispose of it. 3. www.aeg.com Use this option for items with light soil or items to refresh. The indicator light goes on for delaying: 3, 6 & 9 hours. The related indicator comes on. 7.6 Delay Start With this option you can delay the start of the programme. 8. SETTINGS 8.1 ACOUSTIC SIGNALS The acoustic signals operate when: • The programme is completed. • The appliance has a malfunction. To deactivate/activate the acoustic signals, press Extra Rinse Start and Delay at the same time for 6 seconds.
ENGLISH 13 Compartment for liquid additives (fabric conditioner, starch). Follow the product manufacturer’s recommendations on quantities to use and do not exceed the maximum mark in the detergent dispenser drawer. 10.3 Using detergent and additives 1. Open the detergent drawer. Washing heavily oiled, greasy stains could cause damage rubber parts of the washing machine. 10.2 Detergent compartments CAUTION! Use only specified detergents for washing machine. 2. Measure out the detergent.
www.aeg.com 4. Carefully close the detergent drawer. 10.4 Bleach Alternatively the softener, it is also possible to use a bleach agent in the compartment with the programmes for white cottons. Proceed as follows: 1. Put the bleach in the compartment . Do not exceed the «MAX» mark in the detergent dispenser drawer. 2. Run a programme for white cottons. 3. At the end of the programme, run the programme RINSE. Use softener, if desired. This helps to eliminate any bleach residues.
ENGLISH You can cancel or change the set of the Delay Start option before you press the button Start/Pause . After pressing the button you can only Start/Pause cancel the Start/Pause option. To cancel the Delay Start option: a. Press the button Start/Pause to set the appliance to pause. The indicator of button flashes. b. Press the button Delay Start until the delay time indicator goes off. Press the Start/Pause button again to start the programme immediately. 10.
www.aeg.com • In the display three flashing zeros come on. • The indicator of the Start/Pause goes off. • The door lock indicator goes off. • You can open the door. • Remove the laundry from the appliance. Make sure that the drum is empty. • Close the water tap. • Turn the programme knob to the to deactivate the position appliance. • Keep the door ajar, to prevent the mildew and odours.
ENGLISH 17 11.3 Detergents and additives 11.4 Ecological hints • Only use detergents and additives specially made for washing machines: – powder detergents for all types of fabric, – powder detergents for delicate fabrics (40 °C max) and woollens, – liquid detergents, preferably for low temperature wash programmes (60 °C max) for all types of fabric, or special for woollens only. • Do not mix different types of detergents.
www.aeg.com 12.4 Door seal Flush it out under a tap, to remove any traces of accumulated powder. Regularly examine the seal and remove all objects from the inner part. 12.5 Cleaning the detergent dispenser Clean regularly the washing powder and additive dispenser drawer. 4. Make sure that all washing powder residue is removed from the upper and lower part of the recess. Use a small brush to clean the recess. To clean the detergent drawer it is necessary to remove it from its site. 1.
ENGLISH 19 The filter should be inspected regularly and particularly if: • The appliance does not empty and/or spin. • The appliance makes an unusual noise during draining due to objects such as safety pins, coins etc. blocking the pump. • A problem with water draining is detected (see chapter “Troubleshooting” for more details). WARNING! Do not clean the drain filter if the water in the appliance is hot. 6. Clean the filter under a tap, to remove any traces of fluff. Proceed as follows: 1.
www.aeg.com WARNING! When the appliance is in use and depending on the programme selected there can be hot water in the pump. Never remove the filter during a wash cycle. Always wait until the appliance has finished the cycle, and is empty. When refitting the filter, ensure it is securely re-tightened so as to stop leaks and young children being able to remove it. 9. ENGLISH 12.8 Emergency drain Because of a malfunction, the appliance cannot drain the water. If this occurs, do steps (1) through (8) of 'Cleaning the drain filter'. If necessary, clean the pump. When you drain the water with the emergency drain procedure, you must activate the drain system again: 1. Put 2 litres of water in the main wash compartment of the detergent dispenser. 2. Start the programme to drain the water. 12.
www.aeg.com Problem Possible solution The appliance does not fill with water properly. • Make sure that the water tap is open. • Make sure that the pressure of the water supply is not too low. For this information, contact your local water authority. • Make sure that the water tap is not clogged. • Make sure that the filter of the inlet hose & the filter of the valve are not clogged. Refer to "Care & Cleaning" • Make sure that the drain hose has no kinks or bends.
ENGLISH 23 Problem Possible solution The cycle is longer than the time displayed. • An unbalanced laundry load increases the duration time. This is a normal behaviour of the appliance. The washing results are not satisfactory. • Increase the detergent quantity or use a different detergent. • Use special products to remove the stubborn stains before you wash the laundry. • Make sure that you set the correct temperature. • Decrease the laundry load. You cannot set an option.

Failure to use a certified electrician or Electrolux authorised service agent or genuine parts for installation or service voids the warranty. 1. Electrolux / AEG warrants the equipment against defective material or faulty manufacture, provided it is used for domestic purposes only, for a period of 36 (thirty six) months, from the date of purchase by the original retail purchaser.
