Wir bedanken uns, dass Sie sich für den Kauf der PROTECT HOME. USV von AEG Power Solutions entschieden haben. Die nachfolgenden Sicherheitshinweise sind wichtiger Bestandteil der Betriebsanleitung und werden Sie vor Problemen durch Fehlbedienung oder vor möglichen Gefahren schützen.
1 Hinweise zur vorliegenden Betriebsanleitung Instruktionspflicht Diese Betriebsanleitung hilft Ihnen, die Unterbrechungsfreie StromVersorgung (USV) PROTECT HOME., bestimmungsgemäß, sicher und sachgerecht zu installieren und zu betreiben. Die Betriebsanleitung enthält wichtige Hinweise zur Vermeidung von Gefahren. Lesen Sie deshalb diese Anleitung vor der ersten Inbetriebnahme sorgfältig durch! Diese Betriebsanleitung ist Bestandteil der PROTECT HOME.

2 Sicherheit 2.1 Wichtige Sicherheitshinweise Lesen Sie diese Betriebsanleitung, bevor Sie die USV PROTECT HOME. das erste Mal in Betrieb nehmen, und beachten Sie die Sicherheitshinweise! Benutzen Sie das Gerät nur in technisch einwandfreiem Zustand, sowie bestimmungsgemäß, sicherheits- und gefahrenbewusst unter Beachtung der Betriebsanleitung! Beseitigen Sie umgehend Störungen, welche die Sicherheit beeinträchtigen können.
Der Ausgang kann unter Spannung stehen, auch wenn die USV nicht an die Netzversorgung angeschlossen ist, da die USV eine eigene interne Stromversorgung besitzt (Batterie)! Das Gerät muss aus Gründen des Personenschutzes ordnungsgemäß geerdet werden! Der PROTECT HOME. darf nur mit einer VDE-geprüften Netzanschlussleitung mit Schutzleiter (im Lieferumfang enthalten) an 230 V - Wechselspannungsnetzen mit Schutzerdung betrieben bzw. angeschlossen werden.
♦ Wird die USV aus kalter Umgebung in den Aufstellungsraum gebracht, kann Betauung auftreten. Vor Inbetriebnahme muss die USV absolut trocken sein. Deshalb eine Akklimatisationszeit von mindestens zwei Stunden abwarten. ♦ Niemals Netzeingang und USV-Ausgang miteinander verbinden! ♦ Dafür Sorge tragen, dass keine Flüssigkeiten oder Fremdkörper in die USV gelangen! ♦ Die Be- und Entlüftungsöffnungen des Gerätes nicht versperren! Darauf achten, dass z.B.
Beim Austausch der Batterie folgendes beachten: Verwenden Sie ausschließlich eine wartungsfreie, verschlossene Bleibatterie gleichen Typs mit den Daten der Originalbatterie. Explosionsgefahr! Batterien nicht in offenes Feuer werfen. Batterien nicht öffnen oder beschädigen (frei gewordener Elektrolyt ist schädlich für Haut und Augen und kann giftig sein!). 5 Installation und Betrieb Die Installation der USV gestaltet sich einfach, wenn Sie die folgenden Schritte einhalten. 5.1 Prüfung Entfernen Sie die USV aus der Versandverpackung und überprüfen Sie, ob sie während des Transports beschädigt worden ist. Wenn Sie Schäden feststellen, verpacken Sie die Einheit wieder und schicken Sie sie an die Verkaufsstelle zurück. DE 5.

Abb. zeigt den Anschluss von Verbrauchern, die sowohl gegen Überspannungsschutz als auch gegen Netzausfall geschützt werden sollen. Die hier verbleibende unbelegte Schutzkontaktsteckdose zeigt die Steckdose gem. Kapitel 5.5 z.B. für den Anschluss eines Laserdruckers. Schließen Sie keine Heizgeräte oder andere elektrische Geräte mit extrem hoher Stromaufnahme an die USV an. Derartige Verbraucher überlasten die USV und können zur Auslösung der Eingangssicherung des PROTECT HOME. führen. 5.
5.7 (Computer)anschluss mit USB- oder seriellem Kabel Kommunikationstechnisch haben Sie die Möglichkeit, Ihren PC hardwareseitig per USB oder seriell anzukoppeln, um dem Betriebssystem eine unbeaufsichtigte Systemabschaltung zu ermöglichen. Schließen Sie alternativ das USB oder das serielle (RS232) Kabel (beide im Lieferumfang der USV enthalten) wie nachstehend dargestellt an: Die Verbindung über den USB-Anschluss wird automatisch erkannt. 5.8 Ein- / Ausschalten Um den PROTECT HOME.
5.11 Batterietausch Der Austausch der Batterie sollte nur von qualifiziertem Service-Personal vorgenommen werden. Unbefugte von den Batterien fernhalten! Schalten Sie alle Stromquellen vor dem Ersetzen der Batterie ab. Folgen Sie der Abb. 1 zum Entfernen der Schrauben auf der Unterseite des Gerätes und öffnen Sie die Abdeckung. 5.12 Shutdown- und USV Management Software Die speziell für diese Zwecke entwickelte AEG Software „CompuWatch” kontrolliert kontinuierlich die Netzspeisung und den Zustand der USV. Im Zusammenspiel mit der „intelligenten” USV wird sichergestellt, dass die Verfügbarkeit der EDV Komponenten sowie die Datensicherheit gewährleistet werden. Die Shutdown-Software „CompuWatch” unterstützt diverse Betriebssysteme, u.a.

These operating instructions are a composite part of PROTECT HOME.

Only use the unit if it is in a technically perfect condition and always in accordance with its intended purpose, while being aware of safety and danger aspects, and in accordance with the operating instructions! Immediately eliminate any faults which could be detrimental to safety.
The output may be live, even if the UPS is not connected to the mains supply, as the UPS has its own internal power supply (battery)! For health and safety reasons, the unit must be earthed correctly! PROTECT HOME. may only be operated with or connected to a 230 Vac mains with protective grounding using a mains connection cable with PE conductor (included in the delivery) that has been tested in accordance with German standards (VDE). 5 Set-Up and Operation Installing the UPS is as easy as following the steps shown. 5.1 Inspection Remove the UPS from its packaging and inspect it for damage that may have occurred during shipping. If any damage is discovered, repack the unit and return it to the place of purchase. 5.2 Placement Install the UPS unit in any protected environment that provides adequate airflow around the unit which is free from excessive dust, corrosive fumes and conductive contaminants.

5.7 USB and serial cable (computer) connection To allow for unattended system shutdown for your operating system, connect the USB or the RS232 serial cable (both part of the packing) as shown below. For the USB serial cable just simply plug into the UPS and PC. The connection via the USB connector will be auto detected. 5.8 Turn On/Off To turn on the PROTECT HOME., press the on/off switch. 5.11 Battery removal Battery replacement should be performed by qualified service personnel. Keep unauthorized persons away from the batteries! Disconnect all power sources before battery replacement. Follow Fig. 1 below to remove the screws located on the bottom of the UPS to open the battery cover. In conjunction with the "intelligent" UPS, this ensures that the availability of IT components and data security are guaranteed.
