and operation, installation, and maintenance of your appliance.

Keep the operating instructions in a safe place for future reference, and give them to

any future owners of your fridge-freezer.

WARNINGS Warning for your safety. Carefully read these instructions before installing and using the machine. • This freezer is designed to be operated by adults. Children should not be allowed to temper with the controls or play with the product. • Packaging parts(e.g. foils, styrene foam) may be dangerous for children, who could even be suffocated! You should therefore keep all packaging well away from children.

Never store containers with flammable substances, such as e. g. spray cans, cigarette lighter refill cartridges, etc., in your fridge–freezer. • Never operate any electrical appliances (e. g. electric ice–makers, mixers, etc.) in your fridge–freezer. • Do not place carbonate or frizzy drinks in the freezer as these may explode.

CHANGING THE OPENING DIRECTION Changing the opening direction of doors If you wish to change the opening side of the doors proceed as follows: 1... Remove the handles of the doors, if they are side fixing by screws. 2... Take off the plinth pressed on to. 3... Remove the inferior hing taking care for the downer door not to fall off and not to lose the plastic spacer. Using a 10mm spanner, unscrew the hinge pin and reassemble it on the opposite side. 4... Lift the downer door off the central hinge. 5...

INSTALLATION Positioning • Place the refrigerator away from direct sunlight and heat sources. • Maintain recommended ventilation - see figure 2 If the appliance is positioned under a kitchen wall unit, a minimum clearance of 10 cm must be left between the top of the appliance and the overhanging wall unit. • Make sure the refrigerator is accurately levelled turning the adjustable feet in order to avoid vibrations and noises J Fig. 1.

INSTALLATION Cleaning the interior • Do not use alcohol or any cleaning product containing alcohol because it can damage the cabinet. • Before using the appliance for the first time wash the interior with luke warm water and some neutral soap so as to remove the typical smell of a brand - new product and then dry thoroughly. • Do not use detergents or abrasive powders as these will damage the finish. • Remove security used for transportation.

REGULATION AND CONTROL Freezer Compartment: This freezer, marked ,is suitable for freezing food and permits long term storage of frozen food. The appliance must be connected for at least 3 hours before introducing food. Freezing of food: 1) Place food on the upper grill I (figure 1). 2) Maintain food for at least 24 hours in that position. 3) The maximum quantity to be frozen within 24 hours is shown on the «Rating Plate», depending on the model.

HOW TO USE YOUR REFRIGERATOR-FREEZER Refrigerator Compartment: This compartment is meant for keeping drinks and fresh food. The inner temperature is quite equalized. Avoid food touching inner walls, as the cold is being produced in there and the food could partly get frozen. On the other hand this would avoid a perfect circulation of the cold air. This appliance is provided with an automatic defrosting device. You therefore might find sometimes a fine layer of ice or water drops.

HOW TO USE YOUR REFRIGERATOR-FREEZER Useful Hints Do not introduce any new food during a freezing period. • Do not put any newly introduced food for freezing near to already frozen food. • Wrap the food up properly or place it in hermethic recipies before introducing it into the freezer. • Do not introduce any hot food into the freezer. • Food and drinks of a strong flavour may pass this on to others and affect their flavour. Wrap them up adequately or put them into tight closing bags.

MAINTENANCE OF YOUR REFRIGERATOR-FREEZER Warning! Prior to undertaking any maintenance operation, be sure to unplug the appliance. Defrosting of the freezer Warning! Do not use electric heaters or other mechanical or artificial means to speed up the defrosting process, other than those recommended in this booklet. The inner walls of the freezer become gradually covered with a layer of frost keeping in mind not to open the door frequently and keeping the food wrapped up in closed bags.

MAINTENANCE OF YOUR REFRIGERATOR-FREEZER Defrosting of the refrigerator Frost is automatically eliminated in the refrigerator. Clean regularly the water drain opening «G» (figure 1). Cleaning Warning! – Unplug the appliance before carrying out any cleaning operations. Risk of electric shocks! Switch off the appliance and pull the plug from the socket, or remove or unscrew the safety fuses. – For safety reasons, never clean the appliance with steam cleaners.

MAINTENANCE OF YOUR REFRIGERATOR-FREEZER Idle periods During periods when the appliance is not in use take the following precautions: • • • • Unplug the appliance. Defrost and clean the interior and all accessories. Remove all food. Leave the door ajar to permit the air to circulate in the interior and thus avoid unpleasant smells. HINTS ON ENERGY–SAVING • Avoid positioning the appliance close to cookers, radiators or other heat sources.

The injected cooling gas may produce a burbling sound while running through the tubes. 3. Compressor May cause zumbing noises and/or slight bumping. 15 4. Insulation The material used has a tendency to increase noises, but it does insulate perfectly and is of low energy consumption.

SOMETHING NOT WORKING Some functioning problems may be due to causes which can easily be solved before calling the Network Service. Follow these instructions. PROBLEM CAUSE SOLUTION A) SPYLAMP 1. Inner light refrigerator compartment does not lighten (H. fig. 1) • Appliance unplugged. • Plug the appliance Check the automatic domestic control. • No power in the plug. • Bulb not fit in properly or fused. • Swich off the appliance and pull out plug, or remove or unscrew the safety fuse.
