26 Downloading and Reading eBooks
Aldiko is an e-book reader application for Android devices. You can browse, shop,
download, read and organise eBooks right from the application.
The e-book reader supports Adobe DRMed ePub and PDF as well as non-encrypted
ePub and PDF formats.
26.1 Downloading and Reading eBooks
WARNING!
Some books available for download contain subject matters that are not suitable for
children. Parental guidance is strongly advised for children under 18.
26.2 Open Aldiko
Tap > Aldiko.
- You will be presented with an opening message and tips on Aldiko when you open it
for the first time. Otherwise, Aldiko keeps the last open book and the last read
positions for all opened books.
26.3 Start reading
Tap to select a book from the bookshelf to start reading.
• You can scroll through the pages by swiping your finger left to go to the next page and
swiping right to go to the previous page.
• You can also simply tap on the right side of the page to move forward and the left side
to move back.
• Alternatively, you can use the volume keys on your device to scroll through the pages.
Tap on the centre of the page to launch a series of options.
<: Tap < on the top left of the screen to return to the "home screen" of Aldiko where
you can access Store, Bookshelf, SD card etc.
>: Tap >on the top right of the screen to search for words or phrases in the book you
are currently reading.
Location Bar: The location bar at the bottom of the page shows you how many pages
into the book you have read. You can move the bar to scroll through the book you are
reading.
Go To: Tap to jump to a particular point in the book.
