AEQ FORUM - DIGITAL AUDIO MIXER FOR BROADCAST APPLICATIONS

This menu allows you to configure the system Input and Output modules as well as the logical 
audio  channels  created  from  the  physical  inputs  and  outputs.  Clicking  on  the  Hardware 
Configuration  section  on  the  left  side  of  the  screen  displays  the  full  list  of  sub-menus,  which 
includes: 
•  BOARD  CONFIGURATION  allows  defining  the  fader  settings,  audio  input  and  output 
modules and GPIO of the Mixing Console. 
•  MIXER  BUS CONFIGURATION, defines the configuration  of the  internal  summing 
buses of the Mixing console. 
•  I / O CONFIGURATION, enables the configuration of logical audio channels based on 
the  physical  audio  inputs  and  outputs  and  as  defined  in  the  HARDWARE 
CONFIGURATION sub-menu. 
•  MONITORING CONFIGURATION, used to  define the operation of the Control and 
Monitoring Sections that are associated to the Control and Studio rooms. 
•  NTP  CLIENT,  which  sets  the  IP  address  of  the  remote  NTP  server  for  the  accurate 
time-synchronisation. Once configured this will serve as the Master Clock for the local 
time of the AEQ FORUM. 
 4.2.1. BOARD CONFIGURATION sub-menu 
The  BOARD  CONFIGURATION  sub-menu  is  accessed  from  the  drop-down  Hardware 
Configuration main menu.

The BOARD CONFIGURATION sub-menu enables the definition of fader settings, audio Input 
and  Output  modules  and  the  GPIO  of  the  Mixing  Console.  From  left  to  right  and  from  top  to 
bottom the available options are: 
•  CONSOLE CONFIGURATION, here you can set the number of fader modules FRCH(4 
faders) that are installed in the chassis FR01 of the AEQ FORUM: 
•  1  module  FRCH  corresponds  to  4  faders  in  the  control  surface.  The  remaining 
space should be filled with 2 blank modules FR20. 
•  2  modules  FRCH  correspond  to  8  faders  in  the  control  surface.  The  remaining 
space should be filled with a blank module FR20. 
•  3 FRCH modules correspond to 12 faders in the control surface. 
•  GET  HARDWARE  INFO,  optionally  an  automatic  configuration  of  hardware  modules 
integrated into the console can be executed. Clicking this option, the ForumSetup 
software  communicates with the  AEQ  FORUM  Mixing Console  and  retrieves  the 
hardware  configuration  as  installed  in  your  system.  Please  refer  to  section  4.1.1. 
CONFIGURATIONS sub-menu of this manual. 
•  MODULE CONFIGURATION allows  you to manually configure (as opposed to the 
automatic option GET HARDWARE INFO) the audio input and output modules of the 14 
different slots available on the rear panel of the AEQ FORUM Mixing Console. 
•  INTERNAL MODULE CONFIGURATION allows you to configure the General Purpose 
Inputs and Outputs - GPIO (both the physical contact relays and the opto-coupled that 
are available on the rear panel in the section of common inputs and outputs of the AEQ 
FORUM).  It  also  allows  you  to  configure  the  operation  of  the  optional  multi-channel 
communications module - AES10 MADI.
