To prevent formation of moisture in the Battery Compartment, it is
recommended that the Battery be changed in an environment
equivalent to the local outdoor temperature and humidity (e.g., do
not change the Battery in an air conditioned environment, then take
it outside during a hot sunny day).
Battery Hatch Removal
 Locate the Battery Compartment on the back of the Module.
 While applying steady inward pressure on the center of the Bat-
tery Hatch, rotate the Hatch Retaining Ring 10 degrees clock-
wise by pressing against the upper tab of the Retaining Ring
with a small blade screwdriver (Fig. 53).
 Lift the Hatch Ring up and away from the Housing, or turn the
Module over to allow the Ring to drop out into your hand.
 Remove the Battery Hatch.
WARNING: If damage, moisture, or corrosion is
found, it is recommended that you return your XR1
to an Authorized AERIS Dealer, and DO NOT at-
tempt to use it until it has received factory pre-
scribed service.
NOTE: If the old Battery can be removed and the
new one inserted within 8 seconds, nitrogen cal-
culations and settings, will be retained for repeti-
tive dives.
