RUDDER
Yaw axis is controlled by the rudder mounted to the empennage. The rudder is controlled via the pedals. Two
yaw dampers add to the aircrafts directional stability and keep the aircraft coordinated during turns. The input
signal from the rudder pedals is transferred to the actuators, which deflect the rudder. To minimize side slip
during high speeds, the rudder deflection angle is automatically adjusted over speed (from 33° to 4°).
A yaw damper system can reduce reduce the rolling and yawing oscillations known as the Dutch roll.
