DIRECT TO METAL (DTM)

I. GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Description: Aervoe Direct To Metal Rust Proong Paint
is a high quality industrial maintenance enamel coating
formulated for light to moderate interior/exterior industrial
exposures. This product offers lasting protection against
corrosion, light abrasion, weathering and mild chemical
fumes. Direct To Metal signies that the product does not
require a primer coat. In harsher environments, 2 coats
of DTM may be applied for maximum protection.
Benets: This high quality industrial coating will provide
good resistance to moderate environments including
rain, fog, moisture. Excellent temperature resistance
to 200°F. Excellent high gloss appearance, high-hide
coverage that provides corrosion protection especially
on metal surfaces. A primer is not required and DTM
can be applied over sound rusted areas; however, loose
akes, dirt, grease, oils, other surface contaminants or
particles should be removed rst with a wire brush and
chemical cleaning.
Applications: Ideal for equipment maintenance and
O.E.M. production. Exceeds many performance
standards of nationally recognized brands.
Use on metal, wood and other common surfaces including
nonporous plaster. Excellent for use on motors, tools,
cabinets, pipelines, drums, conduit, ducts, furniture, steel
bars, railings, tool boxes, electrical equipment and safety
color coding.
Directions: For best results, surface must be clean,
dry and free of grease, rust, scale and any other loose
particles that could affect lm adhesion. Stir thoroughly
and apply by brush, roller or spray. Thinning: Generally
not required for brush or roller application. For HVLP or
Conventional spraying equipment, thin 5% to 15% with
mineral spirits or Acetone (refer to the Surface Preparation,
Application and Equipment Recommendation Sheet for
more information). Recoating: To avoid lifting or wrinkling
of the rst coat, the second coat must be applied within
the time specied as the recoat window or after full
cure. This is shown in Section II under Dry Schedule
as “To recoat” and “Full cure.” If the recoat window has
passed, the next coat must be applied after full cure has
been achieved. Our Rust Proof Any-Way Spray Paint is
compatible with the DTM system so you may apply the
aerosol as a touch-up of the nal coat instead of rerolling,
brushing, or spraying the DTM, providing the application
follows the recoat window for the DTM product.
Limitations: Please refer to the Safety Data Sheet for
specic information on material hazards, etc. Please
check your local air quality standards before using any
bulk paint. Check all plastic surfaces for adhesion and
compatibility before use. Not recommended for water
immersion services nor as a topcoat for galvanized
products. Not for sale in California.
