WATER-WORKS! COATINGS REMOVER
PRODUCT NUMBERS: 5205 14-OZ. NET WT. AEROSOL
I. GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Description: An innovative, and very effective emulsion
formula; unlike traditional removers, it does not contain
toxic chlorinated solvents. A viscosity-controlled blanket
holds a powerful emulsion of solvents to a coated surface.
As the paint lm rapidly degenerates, a special ingredient
slips between it and the original surface, allowing the
paint to be wiped off.
Benets: Removes oil based paints and lacquers. This
water-soluble formula is easy to use and it does not
damage the substrate. Low odor, noncarcinogenic, and
fully biodegradable. Removes oil-based paint on steel
within 20 minutes with good lifting.
Application: Designed for use on titanium, magnesium,
high strength steel and aluminum (clad, alodined, and
anodized). Effectively removes polyurethane, enamels,
lacquers, latices, chromate and epoxy coatings from
surfaces such as metal, wood, glass, concrete, stone,
brick, and ceramic tile. Porous surfaces will require
additional treatment to be effective.
Directions: Double mask and cover areas that are not to
be treated to protect from over-spray (test small area prior
to application). For best results product, air, and substrate
temperatures should be between 70° and 85°F (21° and
29°C). Align spray head with black mark on valve rim to
ensure complete evacuation. Before spraying, shake
can vigorously for at least 1 minute. Hold can between
6" and 8" from surface and apply a thin, even base coat,
about 5 mils. Apply second coat after 30 minutes, about
30 mils. The remover works by penetrating the coating
and breaking the bond between the substrate and the
coating. The time required for even penetration varies
according to the types of paint, the number of layers to
be removed, and ambient temperature. Some coats will
take minutes, others will take hours. Once the paint has
lifted or softened, vacuum off, power wash or scrape off
the softened paint. Do not allow the treated paint surface
to dry during the removal process. If surface starts to dry,
reapply and allow the remover time to work and continue.
Never leave remover on longer than necessary, and rinse
well before repainting.
Limitations: Please refer to the Safety Data Sheets
for specic information on material hazards, etc. Avoid
contact with rugs, oor, unglazed tile, fabrics, or plastics
of any kind. Keep product from freezing.
