APPENDIX 5. COMPACTFLASH BAR CODE
SCANNER
The “In-Hand™ Scan Card” bar code scanner by Socket Communications is offered as an
optional accessory to the 7375 tablet. This 7375 option is customized to fit intuitively into
the CompactFlash® slot along the top edge of the tablet.
A hard button on the tablet can be programmed (see Button Settings in Control Panel) or
may already be pre-programmed to trigger the scanner function. Button #10 is a popular
choice.
NOTE: Although this Appendix highlights the CF bar code scanner, the 7375 also
supports a wide range of USB-based scanners which may be more readily available and more cost-effective. The
support for these USB-based scanners is also likely to be “plug-and-play”, without any need for custom device
drivers.
