1. Important Safety Information To Prevent Fire or Smoke Damage Have your appliance properly installed and grounded by a qualified technician. The installation must conform with local codes or, in the absence of local codes, in accordance with the National Electrical Code NFPA 70 or the Canadian Electric Code, CSA C22.1. Before using the range make sure all the packing materials have been removed.
Wear Suitable Clothing to tip, resulting in serious burns or other injury. Teach them not to play with controls or any other part of the range. Never wear loose-fitting or hanging clothes while using the range. Be careful when reaching for items stored in cabinets over the cooktop. Flammable material could be ignited if brought into contact with a hot surface and may cause severe burns.
Use the Right Size Pan In the interests of hygiene and safety the range should be kept clean at all times as a build up in fats and other food stuff could result in a fire. This appliance is equipped with cooktop zones of different sizes. Use utensils with flat bottoms. DO NOT use unstable pans and position the handles away from the edge of the cooktop. Always keep combustible wall coverings or curtains etc. a safe distance away from your range.

We recommend stainless steel, enamelled steel pans or cast iron pans with enamelled bases.
The very best pans have bases that are very slightly curved up when cold (Fig. 2.4). If you hold a ruler across the bottom you will see a small gap in the middle. When they heat up the metal expands and lies flat on the cooking surface. Fig. 2.4 Make sure that the base of the pan is clean and dry to prevent any residue burning onto the cooktop panel. This also helps prevent scratches and deposits. Always use pans that are the same size as (or slightly larger than) the areas marked on the cooktop.

The broiler has two elements that allow either the whole area of the pan to be heated or just the righthand half. 3. Adjust the heat to suit by turning the knob. To heat the whole broiler, turn the knob clockwise (Fig. 2.11). 4. To heat the right-hand half, turn the knob counterclockwise.
Ovens throughout the oven, allowing you to cook large amounts quickly. Please refer to Fig. 2.1. The left-hand oven is a multi-function oven, while the righthand oven is a convection oven. Convection cooking is particularly suitable for batch baking on several shelves at one time and is a good ‘all-round’ function. It may be necessary to reduce the temperature by approximately 25 °F/10°C for recipes previously cooked in a conventional oven.
Browning Element This function uses the element in the top of the oven only. It is a useful function for the browning or finishing of pasta dishes, vegetables in sauce, shepherds pie and lasagne, the item to be browned being already hot before switching to the top element. Base Heat This function uses the base element only. It will crisp up your pizza or quiche base or finish off cooking the base of a pastry case on a lower shelf.

To Remove and Fit a Shelf to the Side Supports 1. The shelf has a small kink on either side (Fig. 2.24). To remove the shelf, line these up with the stops in the shelf support (Fig. 2.25). Lift the rear of the shelf upward so that it will pass over the shelf stop and then pull it forward (Fig. 2.26). 2. Fit in the reverse order, making sure to push it fully back. 3. Cooking Tips When the oven is on, DO NOT leave the door open for longer than necessary, otherwise the knobs may get very hot. Cooking with a Multi-function Oven REMEMBER: not all modes are suitable for all food types. The oven cooking times given are intended for a guide only. • Always leave a ‘‘finger’s width’’ between dishes on the same rack. This allows the heat to circulate freely around them.
4. Cooking Table DocNo.031-0004 - Cooking table - electric & fan single cavity The oven control settings and cooking times given in the table below are intended to be used as a guide only. Individual tastes may require the temperature to be altered to provide a preferred result. Food is cooked at lower temperature in a fan oven than in a conventional oven. When using recipes, reduce the fan oven temperature by 25 °F and the cooking time by 5-10 minutes.
5. Cleaning Your Range Essential Information Before thorough cleaning, turn off the circuit nn breaker. Allow the range to cool. After cleaning remember to switch on the circuit nn breaker before using the range. NEVER use paint solvents, caustic cleaners, nn biological powders, bleach, chlorine based bleach cleaners, coarse abrasives or salt. DO NOT mix different cleaning products – they may nn react together with hazardous results. Recommended cleaning materials are shown in Table 5.1 on page 18.
Control Panel and Oven Doors Fig. 5.1 Avoid using any abrasive cleaners including cream cleaners, on brushed stainless steel surfaces. For best results use liquid detergents. The control panel and control knobs should only be cleaned with a soft cloth wrung out in clean hot soapy water – but take care that no surplus water seeps into the appliance. Wipe with a clean dampened cloth then polish with a dry cloth. The oven doors should only be cleaned with a soft cloth wrung out in clean hot soapy water.

Pull the telescopic rails out and fit the broiler tray onto them, making sure to locate the cut-outs onto the telescopic runner tabs (Fig. 5.5). 6. Replace the broiler pan. Cleaning Table Cleaners listed (Table 5.1) are available from supermarkets or on line at www.aga-ranges.com. For enamelled surfaces use a cleaner that is approved for use on vitreous enamel. Regular cleaning is recommended. For easier cleaning, wipe up any spillages immediately. 6. Troubleshooting All servicing and repairs must be carried out by a nn qualified service engineer. Steam is coming from the oven When cooking foods with a high water content (e.g. oven chips) there may be some steam visible at the rear grille. Take care when opening the oven door, as there may be a momentary puff of steam when the oven door is opened. Stand well back and allow any steam to disperse.

Positioning the Range Fig. 9.1 Fig. 9.1, Fig. 9.2 and Fig. 9.3 show the minimum recommended distance from the range to nearby combustible surfaces (see Table 9.1). A We recommend a gap of no more than 3/16” (5 mm) (see Table 9.1) either side of the appliance for moving the range. It must be possible to move the range in and out for cleaning and servicing.

Fig. 9.4 5 46 /16 (1177 mm) If the range is near a corner of the kitchen, a clearance of 3 ½” (90 mm) is required to allow the oven doors to open (Fig. 9.5). The actual opening of the doors is slightly less but this allows for some protection of your hand as you open the door.

Gently push-fit the control knobs onto the spindles. Fitting the Flue 1. Remove the four screws from the broiler flue opening (Fig. 8.1). 2. Present the removable flue up to broiler flue opening.

Located at the bottom left and right rear corner of the range, remove the two screws (Fig. 8.8). 2. Fit the left and right retaining brackets to the base frame and refit and tighten the screws (Fig. 8.8).

Inside the top of the side panel top are two tabs. Attach the self adhesive gaskets to each tab and connect these tabs into the cut-outs in the top edge of the range (Fig. 8.11). 3. Check everything is firmly connected and tighten the screw in the flue vent to secure the side panel in position (Fig. 8.10).
INSTALLATION Check the appliance is electrically safe when you have finished. Fitting the Front Mounting Brackets 1. Open the right-hand oven door and pull the drawer out to its furthest point. 2. Push the ends of the plastic clips (Fig. 8.13 and Fig. 8.14) to release the catches holding the drawer to the side runners. At the same time pull the drawer forward and away from the side runners. For safety’s sake make sure the drawer runners are nn out of the way. 3.

Tilt the bottom of the panel slightly to locate the lower slots onto the washers (Fig. 8.16). Now rotate the panel to fit over the pins (Fig. 8.17). 2. Using the two screws and allen key supplied, loosely fit the bottom panel onto the mounting brackets (Fig. 8.19). DO NOT tighten at this stage. 3. Adjust the bottom panel to set the gap between the side panels and doors equally (Fig. 8.

Carefully move the drawer back between the rails and rest it on the side rails. 3. At each side, hold the front of the drawer and pull the side rail forward so that the clips click into position, holding the drawer to the side rails (Fig. 8.21).
