Local Modem

Conﬁguration:

The recommended local modem connected to the PC is also a GVC 2400BPS Fax/Modem. If

the remote and local modems are the same, command compatibility, data compression, and

data correction features should operate properly. Other modems can be used but they must

meet the requirements in Table 3-5 and Table 3-6.

After the modem has been conﬁgured, store the settings in the active conﬁguration proﬁle

(usually 0) with the following command:

AT&W0

Hardware Connection:

After the modem has been conﬁgured, perform the following procedures:

1. Connect the 9-pin end of the modem serial cable to the appropriate serial port of the

PC.

2. Plug the DIN connector into the modem.

NOTE: Depending on the PC used, a 9- to 25-pin adapter cable may be neces-

sary to connect the modem cable to the PC's serial port.
