Select a trace memory by pressing the 
Trace 
softkey.

Press the 
Save to Mem<N>
 softkey.
The current oscilloscope screen and setup are copied to the selected
trace memory.

Press the 
Trace Mem On
 softkey to display memory.
The trace is displayed in half-bright video.
Automatic measurements do not operate on stored traces because stored
waveforms are pictorial information, rather than stored data.

If you have not yet changed the oscilloscope setup, and want to make
measurements, use the cursors.

If you changed the oscilloscope setup since you saved the display and
setup to trace memory, press the 
Recall Setup
 softkey. Then, use the
cursors to make the measurements.

To clear a trace memory, press the 
Clear Mem<N>
 softkey.
Trace Memory Operating Hint
The standard oscilloscope has volatile trace memories—saved data will be lost
when you turn the oscilloscope off. Adding an interface module, such as the
HP 54650A HP-IB Interface, or HP 54652A/B or HP 54651A RS-232 Interface,
makes the trace memory non-volatile—data is saved, even with the
oscilloscope turned off.
