Measurement Procedure
Preparations for Measurement
1 Have the N2779A power supply and oscilloscope ready for
waveform measurement ready.
2 Turn the power switch off and connect the power cord.
3 Connect the power plug of the current probe to the power
receptacle of the N2779A.
4 Turn the N2779A power switch on, and check that the
front panel power indicator lights.
Demagnetization and Zero Adjustment
1 With the oscilloscope input at ground, adjust the trace to
the zero position.
2 Set the input coupling of the oscilloscope to DC.
CAUTION
Before turning on the power, make sure that the voltage of
the power supply being used matches the supply voltage
indicated on the rear panel of the N2779A.
NOTE
The output of this unit is terminated internally. Use a high
impedance input to the measuring instrument. Accurate
measurements are not possible when the input impedance of
the oscilloscope is set to 50 . Besure to set the input
impedance to 1 M before making measurements. If the
oscilloscope input impedance cannot be set to 1 M then the
Agilent E2697A impedance adaptor can be purchased.
