ASSEMBLY This unit is shipped WITHOUT GASOLINE or OIL. After assembly, see separate engine manual for proper fuel and engine oil recommendations. 3. Fit the tailgate reinforcement bracket over the end of the cart bed. Position the two door support brackets on the bottom of the reinforcement bracket as shown in figure 2. Fasten the reinforcement bracket and the door supports to the bottom of the cart using four 5/16" x 3/4" truss head bolts and 5/16" Nylock hex nuts. Do not tighten yet. See figure 2. 4.
10. Position the rear tongue on the wheel support and the latch stand bracket. Assemble the axle through the wheel support and the tongue. See figure 6. 7. Assemble the wheel support to the bottom of the cart using eight 5/16" x 3/4" truss head bolts and 5/16" Nylock hex nuts as shown in figure 4. Heads of bolts go on the inside of cart. Tighten. IMPORTANT: Make sure the tongue is securely locked to the latch stand bracket by the latch lock lever.
ASSEMBLING VAC PARTS 13. Flip the cart over so that it rests on its wheels. 14. Assemble the front tongue on top of the rear tongue using three 3/8" x 3" hex bolts and 3/8" Nylock hex nuts. See figure 8. HINT: For easier assembly, support the rear tongue with a block of wood. 17. Release the latch lock lever and tilt the cart bed back. See figure 10. 18. Assemble the front panel to the cart bed, sliding the bottom lip of the panel in between the cart bed and the latch stand bracket.
23. Assemble a door latch at each end of the cross brace using a 5/16" x 3/4" hex bolt, a nylon washer and a 5/16" Nylock hex nut. Place the nylon washer between the door latch and cross brace. Tighten so that latch is snug but will still rotate. See figure 13. 20. Place a side panel on top of the cart bed flange, inside the lip of the front panel. Fasten the side panel to the front panel using three 1/4" x 5/8" hex bolts and 1/4" Nylock hex nuts.
25. Assemble a short tarp strap to rear door using one 1/4" x 1-1/4" hex bolt, two 1/4" flat washers and one 1/4" Nylock hex nut. Assemble an "S" hook through loose end of strap. See figure 15. Repeat on other side of door. 26. Assemble door to rear of cart by resting bottom of door on door supports and pushing top of door in against cross brace. Secure top of door using door latches on each side. See figure 15. 27. Hook both the tarp straps onto the 1/4" x 1" hex bolts in the sides of the cart.
32. Assemble the hose adapter (nozzle) to the front of the impeller housing and secure with the three knobs. Make sure that the switch actuator bracket contacts the switch on the housing. See figure 18. 35. Place the hose hanger rod assembly into the hose hanger bracket on the impeller housing assembly. See figure 20. 36. Loop the 25" tarp strap under the hose. Fasten the hooks to the hose hanger rod. See figure 20.
STOP BEFORE PROCEEDING, look in the fold-out sheets to find the template for your mower deck. If written instructions are printed on the template, follow those instructions instead of the instructions in this manual. ASSEMBLING THE DECK ADAPTER (#62468) TO THE MOWER DECK NOTE: Not all of the hardware will be used for any one particular fit up. Contents of Hardware Pack for Deck Adapter: 1. Identify and cut out the template for your brand and size mower deck.
5. Position the adapter over the deck opening, and check for fit of cutout as shown in figure 24. Trim cutout, if necessary, to allow tilting of adapter, keeping the fit as close as possible for best vacuum suction. 7. Assemble the adapter bracket to the deck using two 5/16" x 1" hex bolts, 5/16" flat washers and 5/16" Nylock hex nuts. See figure 26. NOTE: It may be necessary to use extra 5/16" flat washers to shim under the bracket next to the deck surface. Ten extra washers have been furnished as shims.
OPERATION HOW TO USE YOUR MOW-N-VAC BEFORE STARTING 1. Your Mow-N-Vac engine is shipped without oil or gasoline. Service the Mow-N-Vac engine with oil and gas as instructed in the separate engine manual. 2. Inspect the Mow-N-Vac to make sure all covers (rear door, vinyl boot, elbow, hose adapter, hose and deck adapter are properly attached. 3. Check tires for proper inflation (12 - 14 lbs). CAUTION: Vehicle braking and stability may be affected with the addition of an accessory or an attachment.
