1. Installing DSC 5000

Place the supplied CD into the CD-ROM drive.

Do not connect the USB cable to your computer at this stage.

Turn on your computer.

Install DSC 5000 before connecting your camera to your

computer for the first time. DSC 5000 provides mass storage

driver for Windows 98, Windows Media Player Codecs and

Direct X 8.1. Please follow the steps to complete the installation.

Turn off other applications running on your computer.

For Windows ME/ 2000/ XP users: Windows Media Player Codecs and Direct

X 8.0 or above are necessary for viewing the video clips recorded by the camera.

You can skip DSC 5000 installation if you are sure Windows Media Player

Codecs and Direct X 8.1 have been installed in your computer previously.

Move the mouse to the DSC 5000 Driver item and click it.
