9 Troubleshooting, downloading updates, and repair
Wi-Fi is not connected
l There is no Wi-Fi connectivity.
Make sure that the tablet is not in Airplane mode; Airplane mode must be OFFin the
operating system. See Airplane mode, page 39
Power and battery issues
Battery will not charge
l The battery is overheated, or too cold.
The battery will charge between 0 °C and 45 °C (32 °F and 113 °F). If you have been
using or storing the device in a particularly hot or cold environment, the battery may be
outside the safe charging temperature range. Sensors in the battery will prevent the
battery from charging until its temperature returns to a normal level.
Device will not start up
l The battery does not have enough charge to power the device:
Check the battery charge; see Checking the battery charge, page 30. If the battery
charge is low, attach the device to an external power source, then try again.
Device suddenly turns off during use
l Make sure you are not accidentally pressing the Power key.
The Power key is located in the bottom left of the front of the device. Make sure that
while gripping the device that you are not accidentally pressing the Power key and
suspending the unit.
l The device may have run out of power and gone into critical suspend mode.
If your battery charge level gets too low, the device will automatically go into a
hibernate mode to prevent loss of data. If the battery charge is too low, connect the
device to external power.
Restarting or resetting the operating system
If your device becomes unresponsive and you cannot resolve the problem, you need to
restart or reset your device.
