1.9 AC Power Supply Unit (Type 2/4)
The Type 2 and Type 4 AC PSUs are available for the ST-V2 The AC PSU 230/110V (1
Amp) AC mains supply mains supply is converted to 24 V DC to power the external CRU.
In addition, the AC PSU contains an internal 24 V lead-acid battery which is trickle-charged
and which provides a back-up supply for approximately three hours. The battery has an
operational life of five years.
The AC PSU generates alarms as follows:
PSU tamper alarm, in the event the lid is removed
Mains supply failure
Low battery voltage alarm
Failure of the AC PSU
and terminates the following test signals sent from Sitespan to detect:
A hazardous voltage on VF line
An earth leakage condition
Detect the presence of NTU(s) and Customer Equipment
Dial tone on VF line
Mains supply failure to the AC PSU
Visual indication of mains failure is by an LED on the side of the unit. Also within the AC
PSU are a reset switch an install switch(S2) and two LEDs (D8 and D9) which are
used during the initial installation of the ST equipment as part of the frequency and code
setting procedure. This is describes fully in the ST Installation and Commissioning
Procedure 157-036-200.
This Power Supply is available for ST-V2 and ISDN.
