CONNECTING THE EXTERNAL ANTENNA
You can improve RF reception on EasyST by implementing a window-mount external antenna. This
may be necessary in the following scenarios:
Subscriber's premises is located far from the base station, resulting in insufficient signal
strength for viable communication link to occur when using the clip-on antenna.
Location of mounted EasyST provides insufficient signal strength due to obstacles between
the EasyST and ISP (i.e. AS.MAX base station) when using the clip-on antenna.
EasyST provides an MCX connector for attaching the window-mount, external antenna's RF cable
(approximately 1.5 meters). The external antenna can then be easily mounted in a vertical position
on a window using adhesive pads.
The connection of the external antenna to the EasyST is performed in two main steps:
Attaching the antenna's RF cable to the EasyST
Mounting the external antenna to a window
For a detailed list of the specifications of the external antenna, see Window-Mount Antenna
Specifications.
Attaching the Antenna RF Cable
Warning: Before connecting the external antenna, ensure that the EasyST is NOT
connected to the power source. Do not connect and disconnect antennas while the power is
on. This can cause irreversible damage to the device.
To attach the external antenna's RF cable to the EasyST:
1. If you had originally ordered the EasyST with a clip-on antenna, then you need to remove
it; otherwise, skip to Step 2.
Remove the clip-on antenna by holding down on the EasyST with one hand, and then with
the other hand, lifting the clip-on antenna up and away from the EasyST.
