Troubleshooting
Problem Possible Cause
Remedy
No sound Power to mixer and/or recording
device is off.
Switch power to mixer and/or
recording device on.
Channel or master fader on mixer o
r
recording device is at zero.
Set channel or master fader on mixer
or recording device to desired level.
Microphone is not connected to
mixer or recording device.
Connect microphone to mixer or
recording device.
Cable connectors are seated
loosely.
Check cable connectors for secure
seat.
A
udio cable or audio/control cable
is defective.
Check cables and replace damaged
cable(s).
No supply voltage
Check POWER LED. Switch power to
Remote Control Unit on.
Check audio/control cable and
replace if necessary.
Vacuum tube inside microphone is
defective
Contact your nearest AKG Service
Center
Fuse blown
Check POWER LED. Refer to
"Replacing Fuses Page 31" or
contact your nearest AKG Service
Center.
Distortion Channel gain control on mixer set
too high.
Turn gain control down CCW.
Microphone too close to sound
source.
Move microphone further away from
sound source.
Microphone sensitivity set too high.
Switch preattenuation pad in.
Crackling noises or low outpu
t
Partial short circuits due to
excessive humidity.
Place microphone in warm, dry room
and allow to dry.
