Problems with AE 540 Factory preset USA frequency range Problem: In transmit mode the frequency limits are only between 144 and 148 MHz, while reception is still tunable between 136 and 174 MHz Solution: On the inner side of the front PCB (opening of speaker-side cabinet necessary) is a zero-Ohms SMD resistor as jumper, which is nowhere mentioned in the documentation. The jumper is between CPU and channel switch, situated between R 206 and R 203/207. Please see photo and markings.
