Albrecht - Leading in new ideas:
Albrecht has consequently applied the European
R&TTE directive and it’s possibilities, which has
replaced the former national approval mark systems
by the European CE marking system. All Albrecht
Multi-Standard CB radios have a country switch
system and can be used in most European coun-
tries in (minimum) one of the 3 or more available
switch positions: It depends on the member state’s
frequency application, which of the country switch
position(s) You may use in the region where You are:
40 CH FM everywhere and in some countries, which
do not yet allow AM or SSB, 40 FM/40 AM/40 SSB in
nearly all countries (the EN 300 433 Standard) and
80/12 (covering the additional German channels 41
to 80 inside of Germany except base station use in
defined border regions).
My hobby CB-Radio
some Restrictions apply on use of the 80 German
channels: channel numbers 41 to 80 may unfortu-
nately not be used everywhere: in the border areas
of the neighbouring countries, apart from the Czech
Republic: Base stations are not allowed to transmit
in border regions on these channels, or You need a
special licence of the German authority (BNetzA).
Using your radio set in other countries
Even with the common CE marking, there are still
some special national requirements in a few coun-
tries. Manufacturers have been obliged to inform
users clearly by statements on the gift box and
in the user manual about regional restrictions to
use CB radio. Albrecht has issued a unique “Radio
Passport which will help You to provide always the
latest relevant information with your CB radio. The
„ Radio Passport can be downloaded at any time
from the Albrecht homepage as a real help in police
controls to show that Your radio is legal. Users
are responsible to have an official licence, where
necessary (see country list in the user manuals) and
to use only the allowed channel combinations in
multi-standard radios.
New CB regulation:
During 2011, we expect that europe-wide common
new CB regulations will come into force. The new
EU standard will allow FM (4 Watts), AM (4 Watts)
and SSB (12 Watts) as well in all EU member states
and most CEPT countries in future.
All Albrecht CB radios are prepared to meet the
new standard‘s higher output power levels and the
radios can be switched to the new limits as soon as
they will be published.
As long as the new regulations will not be in force,
we have following country list for CB:
80 FM channels: D, CZ (FM) SK
(FM and channels 1-40 and 70-80)
40 FM/40 AM channels: B, BG, CH, D, E, F, FIN, FL, I,
IRL, MC, NL, EST, LV, PL, P, RO, RSM.
40 FM: all EU-countries and CH, FL, N, IS
(except Austria)
40 channels FM (4 W) without county switch:
present Austria Standard
In Austria it is not allowed to use any radio with
country switches. We offer special 40 channel FM
radio versions for Austria on request.
