1.2 Getting started Installing the microSD card 1.2.1 Set-up Removing or installing the back cover Place the microSD card with the chip facing downwards and slide it into its housing. Make sure that it is correctly inserted. To remove the microSD card, press and slide it out. Inserting or removing the SIM card You must insert your SIM card to make phone calls. Charging the battery Place the SIM card with the chip facing downwards and slide it into its housing. Make sure that it is correctly inserted.
1.2.2 Power on your phone 1.3 Hold down the Power key until the phone powers on, unlock your phone (Slide, PIN, Password, Pattern, Face unlock or Voice unlock) if necessary and confirm. The Home screen will then be displayed. You can bring all the items (applications, shortcuts, folders and widgets) you love or use most frequently to your Home screen for quick access. Touch the Home key to switch to Home screen. Drag the screen upwards to access the application list.
Touch and Hold Touch and hold the home screen to access Widgets and Downloaded screen. Drag Place your finger on any item to drag it to another location. Slide/Swipe Status icons For dual SIM models, status icons referring to either SIM1 or SIM2 will be identified by a colour which you have defined.

3.3.4 Editing your contacts Touch to save Touch to select a picture for the contact To edit contact information, touch the Menu key on the contact details screen, then touch Edit. When finished, touch DONE. Touch to add a new label Change a contact’s default phone number The default phone number (the number which has priority when making a call or sending a message) will always be displayed under the contact name.
3.3.5 Communicating with your contacts 3.3.6 Contacts importing, exporting and sharing From the contacts list, you can communicate with your contacts by making a call or exchanging messages. This phone enables you to import or export contacts between phone, SIM card, and phone storage, accounts, etc. To launch a call to a contact, touch the contact to enter the detail screen, then touch the number.
3.3.8 Joining/Separating contacts(1) To avoid duplication, you can add any new contact information to existing contacts in a single action. Touch the contact which you want to add information to, touch the Menu key and select Edit, then touch the Menu key again and touch Join. Then, you will be required to select the contact whose information you want to join with the first contact.

Forward Touch to forward the message to another recipient. Lock/Unlock Touch to lock/unlock the message so it can't/can message be deleted if you reach the maximum number of stored messages. Save message to This option displays when the message is an SMS. SIM card Touch to save the message to the SIM card.

6 Getting connected................. To connect to the internet with this phone, you can use GPRS/EDGE/3G networks or Wi-Fi, whichever is most convenient. 6.1 Connecting to the Internet 6.1.1 GPRS/EDGE/3G The first time you turn on your phone with a SIM card inserted, it will automatically configure network service: GPRS, EDGE or 3G. If the network is not connected, you can touch on the Quick setting panel.
To activate notification when a new network is detected 6.2 When Wi-Fi is on and the network notification is activated, the Wi-Fi icon will appear on the status bar whenever the phone detects an available wireless network within range. The following steps activate the notification function when Wi-Fi is on: Using the Browser, you can enjoy surfing the Web. • Drag down notification panel and touch to access Settings. • Touch Wi-Fi. 6.2.1 Viewing web pages To open new window/switch between windows After opening a website, you can navigate on web pages by sliding your finger on the screen in any direction to locate the information you want to view. Multiple windows can be opened at the same time for your convenience. 6.2.2 Manage links, history and downloads To download an item, touch the item or the link you want to download. To manage a link, phone number or address displayed on a web page To cancel a download, touch the downloaded item from the Notification panel, enter the download manager application, and touch to cancel the operation. • Link Touch the link to open the web page. To view items you have downloaded, touch the application Downloads.

To pair/connect your phone with a Bluetooth device To connect your phone to the computer: To exchange data with another device, you need to turn Bluetooth on and pair your phone with the Bluetooth device with which you want to exchange data. • Use the USB cable that came with your phone to connect the phone to a USB port on your computer. You will receive a notification that the USB is connected. • Touch Bluetooth.
To share your phone's data connection via USB To rename or secure your portable hotspot Use the USB cable that came along with your phone to connect the phone to a USB port on your computer. When Portable Wi-Fi hotspot is activated, you can change the name of your phone's Wi-Fi network (SSID) and secure its Wi-Fi network. • Drag down notification panel and touch to access Settings. • Drag down notification panel and touch to access Settings. • Touch More...\Tethering & portable hotspot.

Google Play Store .......... Touch a category on Google Play Store screen to browse its contents. You can also select a subcategory if there is one. Within each category you can select to view items sorted by Top free, Top new free, Trending, etc Google Play Store is an online software store, where you can download and install applications and games to your Android powered phone. Touch the Google Play Store icon on the top left of the screen or touch Back key to return to the previous screen.
To open the application you have downloaded: To request a refund • On the Google Play Store screen, touch the Menu key and select My apps. If you are not satisfied with the application, you can ask for a refund within 15 minutes of the purchase. Your credit card will not be charged and the application will be removed. If you change your mind, you can install the application again, but you will not be able to request a refund. • Touch the installed application in the list, then touch Open.
Refund On the Google Play Store screen, touch the Menu key and select My apps. Touch the application you want to uninstall for a refund, touch Refund, and finally touch OK to confirm. Update notification On the Google Play Store screen, touch the Menu key and select My apps. Touch the Menu key and select Settings\Notifications to enable update notification. Auto update To auto update all installed applications, touch the Menu key and select My apps from the Google Play Store screen.
To take a picture • HDR Touch to turn on HDR (high-dynamic range). function. HDR photos can better reflect the visual effects people have in the real environment by synthesizing images under different exposure time. The phone will then automatically save the original photos and HDR ones. • Panorama Touch to turn on panorama function. Press the Shutter button or the Volume key to start taking panoramic photo and move the phone towards your capture direction and overlap the two lines.

8.3 YouTube........................................................ YouTube is an online video-sharing service where the user can download, share and view videos. It supports a streaming function that allows you to start watching videos almost as soon as they begin downloading from the Internet. As an online video service, your phone must have a network connection to access YouTube. All videos in YouTube are grouped into several categories, like Most Popular, Most Discussed, Featured Videos, etc.
8.4.1 Playing music 8.4.2 Working with playlists Touch a song to play it. Playlists allow you to conveniently organize all songs stored in the phone storage. You can create a new playlist, add a song to the list, and delete or rename a playlist. To create a playlist Touch Recently added from the Playlists screen, touch the Menu key and then select Save as playlist, enter the name and finally touch Save.

To zoom in and out of a map, pinch or spread your fingers, or you can also zoom in by double-tapping a location on screen. Drag down notification panel and touch to access Settings. 11.1 Wireless & networks 11.1.1 Wi-Fi Using Wi-Fi you can now surf the Internet without using your SIM card whenever you are in range of a wireless network. The only thing you have to do is to enter the Wi-Fi screen and configure an access point to connect your phone to the wireless network. For detailed instructions on using Wi-Fi, please refer to "6.1.2 Wi-Fi". 11.1.
11.1.7 Mobile networks Volume Touch More..., and you can view more settings related to your data usage. • Data connection Volume settings can make user adjust the volume of ringtone, notifications, music, video and alarms, etc., or directly set the incoming calls to vibration or silence. 11.2.8 Applications Encrypt phone You use the Applications settings to view details about the applications installed on your phone, to manage their data and force them to stop, and to set whether you want to permit installation of applications that you obtain from web sites and emails. You can encrypt your accounts, settings, downloaded apps and their data, media and other files by touching Encrypt phone. 11.3 Personal Guest mode Turn on the switch to activate this function.
Trusted credentials Default Touch to display trusted CA certificates. Install from phone storage Touch to select a default input method. Touch Set up input methods to show all input methods. My phone turns off by itself • Check that your screen is locked when you are not using your phone, and make sure the Power key is not accidentally contacted while the screen is unlocked. • Check the battery charge level. My phone cannot charge properly • Make sure that your battery is not completely discharged; if the battery power is empty for a long time, it may take around 20 minutes to display the battery charger indicator on the screen.
The sound quality of the calls is poor • You can adjust the volume during a call by pressing the Volume Up/ Down key. • Check the network strength . • Make sure that the receiver, connector or speaker on your phone is clean. I am unable to use the features described in the manual • Check with your operator to make sure that your subscription includes this service. • Make sure this feature does not require an ALCATEL ONETOUCH accessory.
The phone cannot be detected by others via Bluetooth • Make sure that Bluetooth is turned on and your phone is visible to other users. • Make sure that the two phones are within Bluetooth’s detection range. How to make your battery last longer • Make sure you follow the complete charge time (minimum 2.5 hours). • After a partial charge, the battery level indicator may not be exact. Wait for at least 20 minutes after removing the charger to obtain an exact indication.
