1.2 Getting started 1.3 1.2.1 Set up Inserting or removing the SIM/microSD card You can bring all the items (applications, shortcuts, folders and widgets) you love or use most frequently to your Home screen for quick access. 3 3.1 Call, Call log and Contacts....... Call The number you entered can be saved to Contacts by touching Create new contact or Add to a contact. If you make a mistake, you can delete the incorrect digits by touching . To hang up a call, touch 3.1.1 Making a call You can launch a call by using Call. 3.1.6 Call settings - Fixed Dialling Numbers Touch from the Call screen, then touch Settings. The following options are available: Display options • Sort by: Touch to sort the list by the first name or last name. • Name format: Touch to choose whether to display first name first, or last name first. Quick responses - Call forwarding: Touch to configure how your calls are forwarded when you are busy, unanswered or unreachable.
You can view and create contacts on your phone and synchronise these with your Gmail contacts or other applications on the web or on your phone. 3.3.1 Consult your Contacts To see your contacts, touch Contacts. from the Home screen, then select Touch to search in Contacts Touch to view your favourites. • Call history Touch to view the call history. • Contacts to display Choose contacts to display. • Import/Export Import or export contacts between phone, SIM card, microSD card and phone storage.
3.3.4 Use Quick contact for Android Touch to save. Touch a contact to open Quick contact for Android, then you can touch or the number to make a call, touch to send a message. Touch to select Phone, account, or SIM card. Touch to select a picture or take a photo for the contact. When finished, touch Touch to add a number. to save.
3.3.6 Displaying contacts You can configure which list of contacts, for each account, you want to display in the Contacts list. Touch and touch Contacts to display from contacts list screen, then you can choose which contacts to display. You are required to select the kind of account you are adding, like Google, Corporate, etc. As with other account setup, you need to enter detailed information, like username, password, etc.
4 Messaging and Gmail 4.1 Messaging Sending a text message Enter the mobile phone number of the recipient in the To bar or touch to add recipients. Touch the Send message bar to enter the text of the message. Touch to insert emoticons. When finished, touch to send the text message. You can create, edit and receive SMS and MMS with this phone. To send a message, touch Messaging from the Home screen. An SMS message of more than 160 characters will be charged as several SMS.
To send a multimedia message, enter the recipient's phone number in the To bar and touch the Type message bar to enter the text of the message. Touch to open the options menu, touch Add subject to insert a subject. Touch and then attach a picture, video, audio and so on. • To reply to a message, enter the text, or touch contact etc., after edit then touch . to insert quick text, • Long press a message to show the following icons: copy text , forward , delete etc., touch to save the message to SIM card.
Text message (SMS) • Manage SIM card messages Touch to manage text messages stored on your SIM card. • SMS Service Centre Touch to edit or view the service centre number. • Validity period Touch to select the validity period, during which the network provider will continue to try to send the message. • Character code Touch to select the Character code. • Roaming autoretrieve Select to download the full MMS message (including message body and attachment) automatically when roaming.
• If you do not want to send or save the mail, you can touch then touch Discard. and To add a signature to emails, touch and Settings from inbox screen, choose an account, then touch Signature. 4.2.3 To receive and read your emails 4.2.5 Managing Gmails by Labels To conveniently manage conversations and messages, you can organise them using a Label. To label a conversation when reading a conversation’s messages, touch and then choose Move to.
4.2.6 Gmail settings Touch an account to view the following settings: To access Gmail settings, touch the icon and select Settings. 6 Getting connected To connect to the internet with this phone, you can use GPRS/ EDGE/3G/4G networks or Wi-Fi, whichever is most convenient. 6.1 Connecting to the Internet 6.1.1 GPRS/EDGE/3G/4G To set preferred network mode • Touch Settings>More>Cellular networks>Preferred network type. 6.1.2 Wi-Fi Using Wi-Fi, you can connect to the Internet when your phone is within range of a wireless network. Wi-Fi can be used on your phone even without a SIM card inserted.
To add a Wi-Fi network 6.2 When Wi-Fi is on, you may add new Wi-Fi networks according to your preference. Using Chrome, you can enjoy surfing the Web. • Touch Settings. Chrome To surf the web, touch from Chrome the Home screen. • Touch Wi-Fi, scroll to the bottpn and touch Add network. To go to a web page • Enter the name of the network and any required network information. On the Chrome screen, touch the URL bar at the top, enter the address of the web page, then confirm. • Touch SAVE.
To find text on a web page Other options: • Touch the icon from Chrome screen to display option menu, and touch Find in page. • • Enter the text or phrase you want to find. To forward the pages you have opened. To add the current website page as a bookmark. • Words with matching characters will be highlighted on the screen. • • Touch the up or down arrow to switch to the previous or next matching items. • • When finished, you can touch the Back key to close the search bar.
6.2.1 Manage links, history, downloads To open a bookmark To manage a link, phone number or address displayed on a web page • Link Touch the link to open the web page. Long press the link to open options for further operation, like open in new window, save link, share link, copy link, etc. • Phone number • Address • Touch the icon and Bookmarks. • Touch the bookmark you want to open. To edit a bookmark • Touch the icon and Bookmarks. • Long press the bookmark you want to edit.
• Enter a name, and touch RENAME to confirm. To pair/connect your phone with a Bluetooth device To exchange data with another device, you need to turn Bluetooth on and pair your phone with the Bluetooth device with which you want to exchange data. • Touch Settings>Bluetooth. • Touch and Refresh. • Touch a Bluetooth device you want to be paired with in the list. • A dialog will pop up, touch PAIR to confirm. • If the pairing is successful, your phone connects to the device.
• Touch Set up Wi-Fi hotspot to change the network SSID or set your network security. • Touch SAVE. 6.6 To edit/delete a VPN To edit a VPN: • Touch Settings>More>VPN. Connecting to virtual private networks Virtual private networks (VPNs) allow you to connect to the resources inside a secured local network from outside that network.
7 Multimedia applications 7.1 Camera/Camcorder Your mobile phone is fitted with a Camera and a Camcorder for taking photos and shooting videos. Before using the Camera or Camcorder, be sure to remove the protective lens cover to avoid it affecting your picture quality. To take a photo or video, touch Camera from the Home screen. Touch to select flash mode To take a picture The screen acts as the viewfinder.
Touch to turn the flash on or off or set the automatic flash mode. • Volume button Use this function to enable the volume buttons function to capture a photo, zoom in or out, or adjust the volume. Touch to turn on panorama function. Touch the shutter button to start taking panoramic photo and move the phone towards your capture direction and overlap the two lines. Once the slots are filled, the photo will be automatically saved.
• Touch the picture/video to view or play it. • Slide left/right to view previous or next pictures/videos. Touch to select photos for further operation. Working with pictures You can touch one album, then slide left or right to view the pictures. Touch a picture you want to work on, touch the selected one. Touch to share selected ones. 7.3 Music Using this application, you can play music files stored in your phone. Music files can be downloaded from your computer to the phone using a USB cable. To play a music file, touch Music. from the Home screen, then touch 8 8.1 Others File Manager To manage the files in your phone, touch then touch File Manager. 7.3.1 Playing music from the Home screen, File Manager works with both external SD card and internal storage. Touch a song to play it.
8.3 Radio Available options: Your phone is equipped with a radio with RDS functionality. You can use the application as a traditional radio with saved channels or with visual information related to the radio program displayed if you turn to stations that offer Visual Radio service. (1) To listen to a radio programme, touch touch Radio. (2) from the Home screen, then To use it, you must plug in your headset, which works as an antenna connected with your phone. Touch to enable/disable the loudspeaker.
9 Google applications Google apps are preinstalled on your phone to improve work efficiency and help you enjoy life. This manual briefly introduces the apps. You are recommended to register with a Google account to enjoy all the functions. 9.1 Gmail As the Google's web-based email service, Gmail is configured when you first set up your phone.
You can upload and listen to a large number of songs for free. In addition to offering music streaming for Internet-connected devices, the Google Play Music app allows music to be stored and listened to offline. Songs purchased through the Play Music are automatically added to the user's account. 9.7 Photos Google Photos stores and backs up your photos and videos. It also automatically analyses photos and organises them into groups, so that you can quickly locate the photos you need. 9.

10.2.4 Sound • Sound Set volume for media, ringtone, notifications, and alarms. • Headset mode Mark the checkbox to enable headset mode. Ringtones will only be heard from the headset if it is plugged in. In the App permissions menu of an application, you can grant permissions for the app, such as allowing the app to access your Camera, Contacts, Location, etc. 10.2.6 Dual App This feature allows you to run SNS apps like Facebook or Twitter logged in with dual accounts.
10.3 Personal Fingerprint(1) 10.3.1 Location Touch to set your fingerprint. You can use fingerprint to unlock screen or private folder. Install from SD card Personal dictionary Touch to install encrypted certificates from internal storage or SD card. Touch to open a list of the words you’ve added to the dictionary. Touch a word to edit or delete it. Touch the add button (+) to add a word. Trusted agents Virtual keyboard View or deactivate trust agents. Touch to manage virtual keyboard. Screen pinning When this function is enabled, you can always keep a window in view by touching the Overview button and then the pin icon.
10.3.4 Backup & reset Factory data reset Back up my data Erase all of your personal data from internal phone storage, including information about your Google account, any other accounts, your system and application settings, and any downloaded applications. Resetting the phone does not erase any system software updates you’ve downloaded. Touch the switch to back up your phone’s settings and other application data to Google servers.
Select time zone High contrast text Touch to open a dialog where you can set the phone’s time zone. Touch the switch to activate high contrast text.
